This is not an 'official' studio version. I took the audio from Iam's KZfaq channel and added production over the guitar and vocals. It's somewhat of an imagined "what if Iam released a studio version of his cover of 'Monsters'.
*Backstory: I first heard Iam on American Idol and was blown away by his voice and story. His rendition of 'Monsters' particularly touched me as I also lost my father at 18 years old. I personally think Iam's cover is hands down the best version of the track. With that said, I had to work with this track as soon as I heard it (I am a music producer). think Iam is an insane talent and hope he ends up recording a studio version of this track, but until then, here's my interpretation of what a 'studio' version of the track could sound like.

@@patrickbaisac So many fake accounts! It’s weird. For American Idol, even the fake ones helped share his music which was good for voting. BUT it should be made clear when it is not the actual person. And shouldn’t only he have the rights to share his music? Don’t copyright laws apply? I saw another new wtongi with full playlist- thought it wasn’t him. How can people tell? People responding to him like they’re writing to Iam. Either way when it comes to love and respect, the people feel good and Iam is going to following. BUT it’s misrepresentation and Iam deserves to make a good living off of his amazing talent.

This version of this songs hits home so hard... I'm 41 years old and lost my Dad the day after my 13th birthday. I had only met him once the year before but he was on his way to pick me and my sister up for our birthdays but never made it. My mom was so pissed when he didn't show up, she took us to the mall and got us a few more things. When we got home we had a message on our answering machine that he was in a wreck and didn't make it. Life is not fair but now that I'm grown and have kids and a granddaughter I understand God. I don't understand the "why's" and never will but God does things we can't explain.

I lost my dad about 7 years ago , and still can’t get over it, we had a rocky relationship and felt like my mom my made him to be a monster but he wasn’t, he was a great dad looking out for his 3 sons the best he could. Than when he passed I wasn’t there and I felt he was waiting for me, love this song made me forgive and also move on. Love you pop. Rest in heaven see you later.

As I am watching my 70 year old father slowly wilt away this song is like a stab in the heart. What a beautiful voice and the performance on American idol was the best I've ever seen.

Hope you’re doing good brother.. I’m 24 and my parents are only in their 50s, but I saw my dad lose his dad when I was younger from lung cancer and it was devastating. We all have our time and it’s a beautiful thing to see that relationship and legacy move down to you. You’re a strong man for being able to feel this deeply. It brings out the care in me for my family as well

I just lost my father at 68 to a completely unexpected heart attack. I didn't have the chance to tell him goodbye, but I had the privilege of trying to save him. I know his only concern would be for mom, so I'm doing my best to chase those monsters away. No matter how unprepared you think you are for that loss though, you're still vastly underestimating it. Cherish every moment you have with him, because one of those moments will have to last you for the rest of your life. Be well, and God bless you both.

There is absolutely no way that you could have written this sing without some sort of communication from your father. I cant stop crying. This is the absolutely most perfect song ive ever heard. I also lost my Father, miss him to this day. When Iam sang this, it hit that place in my heart where I keep my Dad and his memories. Every word was felt. This must have been therapeutic for you. In a way, a great tribute for your own Dad. So many are trying to take advantage of this 18yr old who lost his Dad not to long ago. Just don't want your good intentions to look like that. Everytime I play this song made me cried because my father died of lung cancer 😭it’s hard talking video call to my Papa for the last time. I can’t be able to come back in Philippines because I just got married in US in K1 visa on that time. He tried his best to talked though he is struggle breathing and said “i love you my daughter and I’m so happy for you that you found your true love and see you finally happily married. ❤“😭 miss you Papa

This song came to me at the right time. Lost my father in law in 2021 unexpectedly. He had 7 kids, luckily all grown with kids of their own. Him and his wife had just bought a new house to retire in He retired on a Fri, moved in to his new house on that sun, was in the hospital the following Thursday and never came home except to die when we brought him home on hospice, but at least he didn’t have to die alone in a hospital with limited visitation “protocols”. He lasted for 11 days once he came home but he was surrounded by his entire family for those 11 days, they never left his side. I don’t understand the “whys” of God either, and it’s sad he got cheated out of the rest of his life and the new chapter he was about to start….getting to enjoy life for himself. But life happens unexpectedly sometimes and sometimes there is just no rhyme or reason. I also feel like I lost a father that day. He was a great man and we miss him so much ❤.

Lost my dad when I was around 26. I was across the country when he passed. I didn't get a chance to tell him goodbye and that I was so proud to have had him as my father. I'm 47 now and was thinking about him today. I still miss him deeply to this day. As a father myself now, I try to live how he taught me and do good by him every day. Even though I've made mistakes and slip up from time to time. I hope he's looking down on me and is proud of the man I turned out to be. And I hope he knows he has a wonderful granddaughter. Love you Pops always and forever.

Beautiful! My favorite version of yours is your homecoming with you family, friends and community with you . I could listen to you sing all day. Maybe do a Gospel record with biblical truth and correct theology. I’d buy it in a heart beat. Casting Crowns has true biblical theology in many worship songs.
