Ian Dury (RIP, great geezer & inspiration of the likes of Madness, no less!) + Wilko & co (The Blockheads, o'course).. Another great track from another great ALBUM of my youth.. 'New Boots & Panties'.. just taken right back there in an instant (& no Tardis needed, lol).. now just gotta get hold of some of this stuff once more & get mesen listening in again!!!... ❤️🤍💙 ..🎤🎸🥁 🎸.. 💙🤍❤️...

Don’t be blaming them for Madness, ffs
@bluehorizons25088 ай бұрын
@@StevieMcC 'Blaming them'?.. lol.. Suggs himself named Ian Dury as an 'inspiration' many years ago.. Anyway, in my youth as a skin/rude boy, I f*ing LOVED Madness etc (AND Ian Dury, regardless that he & the Blockheads weren't ska)!.. You clearly didn't like Madness.. but then so what?.. Or do you consider yourself as some kind of 'decider' of the musical tastes, even lifestyle choices, of others? (ffs, as you also added for some strange reason)... 🤔...

Don't see it myself. Ian was a captivating stage performer. While I like Oasis, Liam just stands around looking angry

John Lydon was a huge fan, and admitted coping some of Dury stagecraft watching him in Kiburn and the High Roads playing in pubs around London in the mid 70s.

Please, I want to know what is he saying in german at the beggining, can please someone tell me?
@thunderstruck1729 жыл бұрын
nicopiana1 actually it's realy hard to understand. He defenetly says "the air is blue" and something "is green and little..."
@captainbassheart9 жыл бұрын
nicopiana1 I think he wanted to say "Die Luft ist blau, das Tal ist grün, und kleine Maienglöckchen blüh'n... :)
I wish the camera showed the audience more. I think the Germans must have thought Ian was stone mad. They'd be right too; sort of. Classic.

Fantastic. Who is playing that SG guitar? If he wrote those solos, he's incredibly underrated, whoever he is.
@timrobbins72675 ай бұрын
I agree - I had to look him up. It's Chaz Jankel. Two of the most well constructed solos I've ever heard and both in the same song! Absolutely amazing.

Guitar player here is John Turnbull, not Chaz Jankel who seems to be absent as previously mentioned...thank Chaz may have played guitar on the album version which was on NBAP
