Sat in the front row at the Brighton Centre and marvelled at Ian Dury. My daughter Louise was next to me and she was thinking Oh My God what is she going to do! I was in absolute Heaven and now at 78 I play this on a day of terrible news but this takes my mind off all the awful news! So miss you Ian. Wish you were still around. You are so beautifull.. It was top of the Pops you can imagine that night the shed rocked.

I've seen hundreds, probably thousands, of bands from all genres, pop, folk, rock, metal, dance, prog, soul, blues, and Ian Dury & The Blockheads remain the tightest, most on-point band I have ever seen. Not a single dropped note, not a single skipped beat, every member of the band knew exactly what they were doing and what every other member of the band were doing every single second they were on stage. I'm pretty sure they all could have swapped places with each other and they'd still have been absolutely perfect.

Lucky you! I found him at 47 because I fell in love with his son…so I had to go see the Master & god damn if that bat wasn’t a KING of SOME-CUNTRY, well my desire for a time machine only grows…esp. for the times right before “I shows”… UP! Coca, amph, opi BACK WHEN IT WAS STILL RELATIVELY CONNECTED TO THE EARTH through PLANT ENERGY. There, this here, is a DIFFERENT kind of CONNECTED 🍄🐲🐚🌼🌱🌞🌝✨⭐️✨🌜🌚🌛🌎🌍🌏💫✨☄️✨🪐✨🌹✨🖤✍🏻🎵🪭🪩🎁🎉🎊🎉🖼️🪞⏰🎙️📻🪔

As a young teen my mum gave me 1 pound 50 to give to my mates mum for taking me to the cinema to watch Star Wars (i think) but I fell asleep all the way through it and we got out I ran as fast as my little legs would go to the nearest record shop to buy this, meaning I didn’t give my mates mum instead I bought this The National Anthem of my youth performed by The Poet Laureate Mr. Ian Dury RIP Sir Blockhead.

Ground breaking sound. Unique in the late '70s. I remember having this track played to us in my music lesson by hippy teacher back in the day.. Blew my mind.
