IC 1004, CN 8899, and shoving on the rear is BLE 901, and BLE 910 lead A446 south, up the CN Waukesha Sub. This was filmed on Lost Arrow Road, in Byron, WI. I was up this far north to catch CN 8953, and after that I checked out the yard in Fond Du Lac. Much to my surprise, there was a train sitting in the yard with a SD70 leading! He got a signal, so I moved on here to catch him. I caught a SD70 earlier this year, but this was my second one of the year, and yet again it was repainted in CN colors. Despite the paint, it's still a SD70 standard cab, with a amazing P5! Trailing was a SD70M-2, with a panel missing right behind the cab. Since Byron is a massive hill on the Waukesha Sub, CN's got a interesting helper service. Manned helpers are attached to the rear in Fond Du Lac, and they shove trains up the hill for 9ish miles, then they un-couple and head back to the yard. The power for the helpers is a pair of BLE SD40 tunnel motors (SD40T-2's)! I'm not up thsi far north very often, so it's great to see these things! Some classic EMD's. The standard cab leader, and helpers in the late evening make this one of my best catches this year!
