Nice catch at good old quad gated duplainville road! Thats an interesting story of yours. How you got this train already in elm grove going slow. I assume they are now doing track work over there. nice to see the Milwaukee road searchlight signals still in use!
@SEWisconsinRailfan17 сағат бұрын
Thanks! Apparently there was some gate malfunction at Juneau Boulevard. They flagged that crossing, hence why they were going so slow. These signals are always nice to see. I've heard rumors that CPKC is starting to replace some of the older Soo Line signals. I'm not sure if that's true or not yet. The signals in Wauwatosa, and the ones by the Miller Brewery are the only two that I know have gotten replaced.
@zachzebra5616 сағат бұрын
@@SEWisconsinRailfan Juneau Blvd? I was there the other day lol. I got a train going past it and the signals were functioning just fine. We're they not activating or they were just stuck down?

As long as the paint is kept clean it's a decent scheme certainly nicer than the WAMX standard colors. With those 8 empty Flats somebody just got a big batch of plate steel
@SEWisconsinRailfanКүн бұрын
Yea, WSOR does an amazing job at keeping locomotives clean. A nice fact with WSOR is that it will never get those black an yellow units. When WATCO got the WSOR, they signed some contract stating that the WSOR red and white image must stay.

@zachzebra562 күн бұрын
Nice catch! That leader sure looks really clean. NGL the color scheme of it really reminds me of the Soo paint scheme. It appears as though unfortunately the GS type 1 here met the same fate as Moreland Blvds type 1. I was told that was even the original bell to those signals when they were installed back in the 90s as well.
@SEWisconsinRailfanКүн бұрын
WSOR does a great job keeping locomotives clean! Your not alone with thinking these look like Soo Line SD60M's. Quite a few think that as well. The bell has been gone here since early spring. I know it's been here for a long time! It was working perfectly fine as well. I got a video of it 3 days before it was taken down.

I read the description. You mentioned ATCS. ATCS Monitor? I thought that didn't work anymore.

It doesn't work on all of CSX, most of NS, and a lot of UP, and BNSF doesn't work. It still works very well on CN and CP.

Forgot to add the 1st flatcar has (2) D9 Armored Bulldozers on it. These can be used for anything from simple construction work in contested area's to used against fortifications to knock them down or breach walls, buildings bunkers, etc.

Nice catch! Nice to see some good ol CPKC action! Cant wait to see those new spots your gonna try out! Also if your in the Brookfield area and your seeing more slow trains than usual, thats likely due to track work being done over there. I was told a few weeks ago that there was a slow order in Pewaukee due to that reason and by now they should be doing the Brookfield part. Especially after seeing how fast this train was.
@SEWisconsinRailfan14 күн бұрын
Thanks! I had no clue about the slow orders in Brookfield. That is nice to know. I wanna hit some spots west of Oconomowoc, some crossings in Elm Grove, and I want to try and make it down the C&M again. For some odd reason, I really enjoyed the C&M last time I was down there!

Nice catch, love that SD70ACe leader in the new scheme. I live in Kansas City and have gotten only 2 or 3 leading. If you want to catch more UP and not go to Chicagoland, come here, we have plenty.
@SEWisconsinRailfan15 күн бұрын
Thanks. I'm not a fan of Chicago itself, but Rochelle, IL is where I go. I start in Rochelle, follow the UP as far as DeKalb, IL, them go south and follow the BNSF back to Rochelle. Last time I caught 8 UP's, and 5 BNSF's.

Waukesha has 16 crossings in it, so there's plenty of spots! I've been bugged by the cops a few times though. I'd recommend going a tad further north, to Duplainville,WI. You get a CN/CP diamond that is pretty active, and it's a nice area to catch trains.

What an unusual thing, the signals not working. I wonder what caused them to malfunction. I'm now wondering if Moreland Blvd malfunctioned too cause the train blew for that crossing as well. Either way, really cool to see these 2 crossings a horn zone for once. Even if it's just temporary. And that K3L was awesome! Glad you managed to catch the train you missed a while ago!
@SEWisconsinRailfanАй бұрын
Thanks! Mooreland was also not working. It wasn't a malfunction, MOW crews were doing some type of upgrade to the signals, and cut the power from them. All of Waukesha as been a work zone on CN for weeks now. I don't what there doing exactly, but it's taking them awhile!

Thanks! The UP around here is very slow. Your guaranteed one EB, and one WB. There's always a few coal extras weekly, coke trains occasionally, and ethanol a few times a month. CP you get 8 freights daily, plus the 2 Empire's, and however many Borealis trains there are.

Plenty of horsepower with an interesting military load. Plus you were lucky enough to avoid the storms and got that nice blue sky. The most recent release from The Railroad Tie Spiker has a good sequence of desert painted vehicles on Street running in Elwood IN doing 30 mph. Amazing where these loads all wind up
