I usually make a continuous strap - they overlap under my foot - I thin down (shave)the ends. I usually pad the strap with a little bit of foam too - I have bumpy, weird feet 😅 I use a thinner lining then and usually sew around the foam - the insert is narrower than the strap . If the bumps of the strap show up underneath I fill it up with cork paste or fiberglass putty. I usually finish edges by polishing - rubbing and waxing them with that round manual tool, but edge-kote works too, just use a thin layer so it won't crack. I often use p40 or similar athletic shock absorber liner under the footbed if the design permits it (it usually can be accomodated. It makes even very high heeled shoes much, much more comfortable - you can always add on the glue in gel pads later. Love the tutorial - with the quality of everything decreasing handmaking items is becoming more and more worth it❤ I usually take time to round out, thin out and finish edges of the sole - it really adds to the quality look - bumps and lumps really detract from "quality" look and can be bane of items done without the industrial machines.

Hi! I loved the video!
