Best ODI knock i've seen. Run chase that wins makes it extra special. Beats my next best ODI innings Michael Bevan 185* for World XI v Asia in Dhaka in 2000....that run chase of 320 fell just 1 run short, but a truly incredible innings. So sad for Afghanistan though. They were an inch away from their greatest achievement. To beat Australia would have been fantastic. One day they will.

Felt very bad for Afghanistan. 😢 Was really rooting for them to beat Australia and make things more interesting. Unfortunately the drop catch costed them the match. It's very refreshing to see Afghanistan play some beautiful cricket than the so called Attacking Champions. Maxi was a beast today. Can't think too many matches other than Kapil's 175. Once in a lifetime innings 🔥

The massacare done by Maxwell today made me root for our own Hardik Pandya who got ruled out unfortunately. If Australia can be in such situation against a team like Afghanistan, India too can be in that situation in SF or Finals against Top 3 teams. But even after 7 down, they had 'MadMax fury' for rescue, but we have no one 😢😢

@@katana_3558 I'm sorry to say this bro.. Surya is extremely overrated in ODIs and also lacks experience.. He is yet to crack this format. Hardik is the only guy who can play with caution and aggression in the middle order. Backing a restless guy like SKY gonna backfire one day for sure.

If they had a quality fast bowler ,then they could have bowled sharp high pace bouncer to get him , maxi has short ball issues, but they don't have quality fast bowler to do that and I could their journey similar to India when we struggled to find fast bowlers and we played 4 spinners in sena conditions

I would agree with your statement completely if Max was not injured between the innings. Cummins is a good batsman, he should have taken charge as a captain at least after Max set the chase on at the end. If Max misses knockout games Aussies will be in big trouble.

May be this win might give Super boost to their dressing room and I don’t surprise if Aussie win the World Cup 2023 AFG needed more captaincy’s tips and more experience in handling these kind of situations . 200 partnership will not easily given by any experienced team like India , or SA ,NZ.

Hasmath could have brought in fielders inside the ring of last ball and stopped the single. Maxwell wouldn't have limped with ball cut-off inside the circle. If he hits a boundary let him score but atleast you'd get Pat Cummins on strike. Lack of common sense and looked like Afghanistan took the situation for granted after 7th wicket.

Max played with guts luck too helped him, but what happened to Cummins? It's absurd and irresponsible knock from him. Being a captain and pretty decent batsman himself he should have taken incharge knowing his key player is badly injured and might miss knockouts. He played as if he never batted before.
