Would love to watch Nepal in Super 8, but with all due respect, Nepal defeating 3 of South Africa, SL, Bangladesh and Netherlands is highly unlikely. Winning 1 or 2 games will be a great result for Nepal going forward. -An Indian fan😊

@@AndrewLeonardCricket Man, you replied to my comment😄 Been a fan of you, the way you keep promoting Associates cricket, truly great for the growth of the game. Would love to see ICC bringing more and more teams in the world cups in future😄 Btw I feel just like there's an ODI WC once in every 4 years, ICC should hold an Associates ODI Cup including 8-10 Associate nations once in every 4 years. Let the world cups happen as they are, but a different ODI tournament altogether solely for the 8-10 top ranked associates not having test status. Then the winner of that tournament will have to play a test series (at least 3 matches) with the current lowest ranked Test nation (currently Ireland as example) and if they can win the series, then they are granted test status for the next 4 years and the one losing concedes it's test status and plays in the next Associates cup. This can continue and after every tournament this battle for that last test status will continue once in every 4 years. ICC must also ensure that the lowest ranked test sides like Ireland and Afghanistan play regular test cricket, so that there is significance of the granted test status, may be include all the 12 test teams in the WTC cycle. 6 groups of 4 teams, 2 teams goes up making second round of 12 teams, 12 teams divided into 3 groups of 4 each, 2 goes up to super six, Super 6 divided into 2 groups of 3 each and 2 goes up each making the semi final. Total 63 matches played over 35 days.

It's a real shame despite having an associate side in ICC since 1974, Argentina not even closer to grassroots level. The same Papua New Guinea steps up level a lot since member of ICC.

Super 8 fixture: 1st Group = A1, B2, C1, D2. 2nd Group = A2, B1, C2, D1 Semi finals: Top 2 from each group will qualify for the semis. Eventually 1st group's topper with the 2nd group's runnerup and likewise. Later on the finals.

Estimated super 8 group members: 1st group: Ind, Eng/Aus, Nz, SL/Ban. 2nd group: Pak, Aus/Eng, WI/Afg, SA. 2nd group will be tougher with unpredictable match results due to the Pak & WI/Afg's fixtures.
