In this episode of the show, Binksy and Stu look back at the two semi finals at the Men's T20 World Cup with one eye on the final, which will see India take on South Africa.
We start the show by discussing India's win against England, which was set up by an excellent partnership from Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, then finished off by India's brilliant bowlers. We talk about setting the tone at the top, underrated Axar Patel, more Jasprit Bumrah magic and who from England might be saying farewell.
Next we move to South Africa's dominant win against Afghanistan, which takes them to their first-ever final. Marco Jansen gets a shout out, as well as Afghanistan's tournament as a whole, before the conversation focuses on whether the pitch was up to standard for such a crucial game and what the Proteas can take from such a one-sided fixture.
To finish, we look ahead to the final in Bridgetown. Will Rahul Dravid go out on a high thanks to a Virat Kohli special? Or will South Africa's well-balanced bowling lineup and powerful middle order see them lift the trophy for the very first time?
We'll find out the answers to those questions on Sunday morning New Zealand time, and we'll be back in your feed after that to celebrate the champions and take a wider look at the tournament and the past month of cricket. Until then please take the time to give us a like, follow, share or subscribe on all our channels (@toporderpod on Twitter & Facebook, and @thetoporderpodcast on Instagram & KZfaq) and a (5-Star!) review at your favourite podcast provider, or tell a friend to download. Just because India’s SF is fixed on a ground doesn’t mean they have byfar the best schedule. They are one of the teams that travelled from new York to Florida to three different venues in West indies ( which does include international travels) and also considering the day games throughout is not easy under the sun and heat, also they have to get used to different conditions in different pitches. I would say England had the best schedule in this WC where all their matches were in WI. That should give them advantage to get used to these conditions more:

When we look back at this tournament I think most fans will agree it was a shame some of these pitches were so bowler friendly. The Super 8 phase has produced the best cricket I think - and I expect we’ll get a great game in Bridgetown and the focus can be on the players.

It would be "India vs Rest of the world" Instead of "India vs South Africa" As NZ and SA are the next favourite team of the whole world after their own team.

Why everyone connected to cricket from England, Pakistan, Australia all are saying that BCCI set the SF venue for India which helped them when what I heard was that it was the Guyana government who wanted India to play their SF there as there’s a large indian diaspora in the country, the largest in the Caribbean? Why not one of these people who spewing hatred towards BCCi n Indian team get the true facts and say it if it was true the Guyana government who asked for it? So much hatred shown towards the indian team just because they are doing well .

The colonialist mentality of the west have not gone away, they believe that they are the only countries who deserve to control cricket and can't stand an ASIAN COUNTRY ruling the sport, It's like England in football, everyone comes to watch them play, both in the PL and otherwise, but no one want's them to win

Do you think this is how we feel? It feels like a shame for the Indian players that these conversations are happening - they’re so well rounded to win in any conditions, I think most fans just want a fair set of circumstances so we can all focus on the cricket on the field.

@@thetoporderpodcast No, i am not saying you guys are like these people. For example, former Pakistan captain, Inzaman Ul Haq has accused Indian bowlers of ball tampering in their last 2 matches and he said this on Pakistan television. These type of people have so much hatred towards India till they will say anything without any proof. I am sure you must have read Michael Vaughan’s tweets and his dissatisfaction with ICC for so called favouring India. George Dorbell from the Cricketeer channel yest confirmed what i said about the request by Guyana govt for India to play their semi final there yet BCCI is accused of doing it. When’s there’s too much hatred shown from many quarters, you can’t win as you can’t be countering all of them all the time.

India got the toughest schedule, England got the easiest.India got initial matches in new york pitch which was horrible and could have gotten India out of the tournament and also injured our cricketers.wheareas England got good surfaces and venues.So don't show hypocrisy and accept the fact that India played better.Also head to head India is 5-2 against England in the last 7 t20 matches.

Two teams with chokers tag got the opportunity to finally shed the tag . If you take players to players, SA has the advantage as they have 6 batters full of power to smash any bowling group on their day. SA bowlers too are coming to form at the right moment and can go through the Indian batters especially when 3 of them are still struggling to get runs. ( Kohli, Pant, Dube) Indian bowlers are on top form too and can change the results of the match by their bowling but the batters must fire and can’t depend only on Rohit n SKY. The champion will be the team whose players are on form on the day as previous forms are of no use to use as we saw in the ODI final. Although many are saying India are the favourites, i personally am not ready to believe they can win until the final ball has been bowled. I certainly can’t go through another devastating moment and heart shattering to pieces as still not recovered from last final defeat.

Should England call Jonathan Trout to go back and be the England coach till the 2028 T20 tournament? He will be the best coach for them as he has had enough experience at the highest level and delivered fantastic results with limited resources. He can rebuild the next England white ball team .

He’s certainly done himself no harm if that’s his ambition - seems to be very well organised and clearly knows when to slow the game down 😂 In all seriousness though I wonder if Trott might like to stick with Afghanistan for longer - good nucleus of players that are gaining in confidence.

There’s no pleasing the non-Indian audiences 😂. I have no idea where this confidence to make intellectually innocent assertions comes from. I can only guess this is the result of parents and teachers not really telling their kids when they are being stupid when growing up 😜. India had the toughest schedule along with South Africa and both teams played in most variable conditions. If India had played the other semifinal and won, everyone would have got on the bandwagon to blame India for doctoring the pitch to suit them, not the ICC, not the West Indian organizers… none of that. What I get here is glowing praise for SA for exploiting the conditions.

@@thetoporderpodcast you did blame India for the morning game. You seem to forget a schedule that suits Indian TV audiences is not the same as a schedule that suits Indian cricket team. Besides, Antigua wanted to host the India game not that India requested it.
@thetoporderpodcast

We’ll have to agree to disagree on this. When even Sanjay Manjrekar is saying India had a clear scheduling advantage then it seems pretty clear cut. From a pure cricketing perspective though India have been amazing and deserve to win the tournament in my view, doesn’t mean the ICC can’t learn for future tournaments and the blame on scheduling inequalities lies with them, not India which we thought was pretty clear. It’s obviously touched a nerve though with Indian fans. Just hope the players aren’t affected by it.
