Joey recently met Mak, one of Vancouver Aquarium's resident sea otters. They seemed to bond over ice...

Mak has the strength to barge in and take Joey’s ice but doesn’t. What a sweetheart. Kunik would steel it in a heartbeat

Joey and Mak are otterly adorable, learned so much about these precious cherubs from watching Joey for the last couple of months. The care that they're given is amazing.

Those three dislikes... either they're automatically generated, or the people behind them have no souls. Because this is PRECIOUS. These pure, sweet fur babies are all happiness and light. You'd have to be soulless to not love them.

King Joey sitting on his ice throne 😁 I really love how he and Mak get on. I hope he gets on this well with Hardy and Rialto too. They are going to be such a fun and mischievous gang of boys when they all get together one day.

It's so lovely to see Joey being integrated in with the other otters. He was getting a bit lonely, even though the aquarium did an amazing job nursing him it can't replace him being part of an otter pack, the group nouns for which are apparently a bevy, family, lodge or romp, or a raft when they are in water, according to Wiki.

I will say it agin, there is just something special about Joey! Sitting in his ice bucky eating ice i can only imagine how soft and squishy he is. Much love to all my fellow otter lovers and otter caregivers.

My cat messing with his water bowl. Cats trying to find in boxes waaaaay too small for them. Cats trying to get at each other’s food/toys/mom/dad. They remind me of cats.

@@kp4911 he so is! Joey wasn't behaving during breakfast and had to be guided back into the water using a big, red, plastic board so that he could be fed. He was trying to resist the board, but Mak was an amazing big brother and pulled him away, even dragging him (nicely!) Through the water. Really made me wish there was a microphone so we could hear Joey's indignant meeps that he definitely was making. It's a real treat to watch
