ICE Resin®️ Marries Jewelry and Papercraft: A New Series Episode 1

I had this idea to take my longtime love of jewelry making and my newfound love of paper craft, mix media and junk journaling and try to bring them together in new and exciting ways (at least new for me). My goal is to see how many projects I can come up with to share and I have a feeling that ICE Resin®️ is going to be the common denominator. In this first episode I'm starting with the basics of what ICE Resin®️ is, how to mix it, and show some experiments I did with making resin paper. There will be a second quick video to follow this one revealing the results of the resin pour from this first episode. Then, we're off and running to make our first fun project in Episode 2. Wow...I just started this but had to stop n comment quick... This is so cool for me because I do jewelry and paper crafts as well!! I usually go back n forth between the two but always want to bring them together as well. Besides dangles n a few simple things I have no ideas so I am super excited for this!! I'm a new sub n will be here for all of it!!! Yay!!! ✌🏼❤️

You might want to experiment with extra thick embossing powder. It’s a easy way to get some of these effects

I do have some embossing powders and if I remember correctly, the outside copper edge on the mandala on the front cover is done with copper embossing powder. I have also used this technique in some of my mix media open heart pendants....so many techniques, so little time!

The extra thick embossing powder is really thick with only one coat, I can’t remember who’s it made by

You can do this look with encaustic beeswax

I have watched some encaustic beeswax tutorials and have been really intrigued. I'm sure at some point I will have to buy those supplies as well. It's funny you say that because that's exactly what I thought when I saw the encaustic videos...how similar it is to what I do with resin. The nice thing about encaustic is that it dries faster. I did a large heart necklace last year that was a commission and it really reminds me of encaustic art. If you go to my FB page and look all the way back to last year you'll see the photos of the process. I didn't do videos back then but I did take photos at every step. I delivered it on Christmas Day so you'd find it around then.

Is the ice resin safe to use without wearing a safety mask? Cause I watch some KZfaq talk about resin and before you start you need safety tools.

Thanks for the question. I know in some of my videos I have forgotten to specifically mention this. When working with any sort of chemical (including glues and paints) I believe it is important to always read the manufacturer's safety data sheets. Each product is different but it's always important to work in a well ventilated area and use any safety tools recommended which may include respirators and gloves. I would recommend this for Ice Resin as well.
