Ice yarns is far from my favorite yarn company, and I DON'T plan on purchasing from them often..... I just got lucky this time because of my subscribers telling me what to get. Ive been very disappointed in the past. I really prefer Michael's 😉

Turn you off??? Awww, heck no! I am sitting here ELATED to have this long video! I'm learning a LOT about ICE Yarns and I'm excited to try some of them! I'm also appliqueing pieces onto a crocheted square, and applique is not my favorite task. This is making it go much faster! Thank you for this great video, Crystal!

Beautiful yarn Crystal. I agree with you. Love that Roseta worsted yarn. I bought some yarn a couple of years ago. I only bought acrylic yarn just to see how it was. I think it looks like The Unforgettable yarn. Anyways, when doing all my calculations they came out to about $3.67 a skein. I didn’t buy to many bags as you can see. I was happy with that amount. The colors were beautiful. Thanks for sharing your haul. I think I’m going to purchase the Rosetta yarn. The colors you got are beautiful. Can’t wait to see your other unboxing’s. I love all your enthusiasm when you open your boxes. Be well and be blessed along with your beautiful family. Please give your little Mable a little squeeze for me. She’s so cute. I think if one life in the USA with the nice big stores like Hobby Lobby or other stores it may be an issue but in other countries the options is not big. In some countries one also have to ring in the cost of fuel (traveling cost) to neatest yarn store and I thing that would also compare to the shipping cost. I love your yarn hall. Thanks for sharing. When I purchase from ICE, I get the most of that level of shipping, then I do the math. I figure out the total number of grams of yarn I'm getting, and divide by the TOTAL (including shipping) money I'm spending. Right now I average around $2.50 a skein, regardless of what I've bought. Never buy the lowest within a shipping level. Play around in the cart, adding a pack and taking away, until you've got the most you can get, in that shipping level, and I can almost guarantee you, you won't be disappointed.

I've done the same thing. Im not able to but in such great bulk so playing with it for the first tier shipping has worked for me.

@@crochetcatsandmore8413 as far as I know it would be cheaper to buy a big amount, but the 5/6 pack deal is the best if you can't buy a bunch at the same time, and at least here in the Netherlands it's still a lot cheaper than the local yarn of the same quality (you can buy cheaper yarn but that's not very nice)

i got my first ever Ice Yarn order today, i had stuff sitting in my basket on their site for AGES but i found their site so chaotic and confusing i kept adding bits to it then over time. Last week i finally did it. I got the rosetta worsted only darker it is to die for!!! love your haul

I just got my 1st Ice Yarns order. I purchased 20 packs (8 kilos total weight) and my shipping was 50$ so it added $2.50 a pack to my price. I didn't buy any wool because I am making prayer shawls and want washing to be easy to the recipients. My favorite yarn is the Rainbow and Baby Cotton 100g.

Gumball is a color pooling yarn. I’ve bought from Ice yarns 3 times. I love what I did each time. The shipping initially scared me off. Then I started averaging the # of skeins using every total cost including shipping. My orders averaged 1.86 or less each time. My orders contained bamboo, cotton bamboo blend & Giza cotton in addition to acrylics or acrylic blends. I could by all the yarns I received for 1.86 per skien even on sale in the store.

Ice Yarn does have nice yarn however, I have two problems with them: The site is not user friendly and the cost of shipping.

Jeannie Eaton you need to order less yarn. There is some magic weight that lets the shipping be very good. Make an order , go to check out, if the shipping is too much, back off a few skeins of yarn, check out again too see the rates. The best rate to US IS ABOUT 84 cents a skein. Sorry, I forget what the shipment weight should be for this low rate .

Love all these yarns! I was in Michael's tonight and the 70's yarn is on sale for 4.99 a skein. At least here in Murfreesboro TN. Joann's has Scarfie yarn, 3 for $20. Regularly 9.99 a skein. My Walmart doesn't sell the scarfie yarn. Love the Lana Bella and magic glitz also! ☹ Thanks for sharing and comparing the yarns! I have learned so much watching your channel!

You are so lucky having a well-stocked Walmart. There are three within 15 miles of me and none of them have more than about 25 feet of yarn shelf space. And they look like somebody got in there with an egg beater. No scarfie, no mandalas except damaged ones. Ordering from lion brand or ice is much better for this area. Six 4 skein packs of ice work out to about $1.00 per skein for shipping to Alabama. And I don't have to buy gas or deal with traffic. Thank you for your wonderful unboxing!!

Hi Crystal , I use ice yarns a lot now and even with the shipping it still works out very very good value , I love the rainbow yarn and it reminds me of unforgetable , also I have bought the piccaso yarn recently it is so soft as is the rock star anyhow it's a case of trying out some to find out . My last order is baby chenille and it's gorgeous . I am to be a grandma in September my first one at 61 I am so excited to at last be a GRANDMA already looking at your baby patterns . 😊😊😊😊😊 . Oh and by the way I think I speak for all of us that your not boring us at all and we love the longer videos , when I order from ice yarns I add all my balls of wool and then just divide the shipping between them to see how much it works out and yes I try to get a large order which helps 👍

Yes, their website is very hard to navigate. It is, in my professional web developer opinion, very 2000s. I do love their yarns tho so I put up with the crappy website. I just placed another order 2 days ago and it already shipped. Love their yarns!

I'm so glad that this time you got a lot of what you liked. I personally like Ice yarns even with the shipping because for the amount of skeins averaging $2.30 is better than going to my local Walmart, Hobby Lobby and Michael's with coupons. I can get enough yarn to complete a big project on Ice Yarns while at the other stores I can never get enough at one time.

I so want to order some of their yarns but the fact that you have to place such a large order to keep the dollar cost average down due to their shipping costs has prevented me from doing so. Hobbii however has definitely managed to drag me kicking and screaming over to their site a few times over the past few weeks😉😂I love the fact that their shipping is only $7.50 total. Granted, the shipping time isn't near as quick as ICE yarn's is but I'm patient.....for now lol

I ordered only 4 packs of yarn, and the cost was $2.74 per 3.5 oz. I calculate it on weight, because a 200 g skein will cost more than a 50 g skein, and if you figure it based solely on # of skeins, it gives you a false picture of cost.

I watched your unboxing of Ice Yarns and I fell in love with them. I had been on their website a couple times but was quickly overwhelmed. I made note of the ones I liked and I had something to look for when I got on their site. I was shocked at the shipping cost but it equaled out with all the yarn I ordered. I was shocked that the order was in the states in 2 days. But it took another 3 days to get approval to deliver it. So I am so excited to get my order. I really enjoy the yarn hauls and the unboxings. I am stuck at home and have to order online so you help me to check out the yarns.

I think the ice yarns universe is so beautiful!! I've never seen that yarn before. I loved your unboxing and comparison to known yarns. I especially enjoyed Mabel's cameos!!

I’ve just spent a couple hours on Ice yarn site and then I saw the tabs at the top, those tabs let you filter everything from yarn weight, fibre content, usage etc. So for easier searching look for the “Categories, Yarn tags, Closeout yarns and Shop by” tabs on the home screen. The “Shop by” is especially useful 😊 Great video Crystal, my credit card though will be taking a hit 🤣
