What's worst is that by THAT last battle and then Fullbring arc, people already think the Shinigami are the "good guys", but if you think about what everyone else says... HIM, Fullbrings, Quincies, Arrancar, Vizards... yeah... it just happened that Ichigo met Rukia first, that sealed the fate of everyone just because of that.

I personally really respected byakura for this, even more now. Being in such a high position of respect, authority, and class meant he could have pulled strings to get her away from the death penalty, but he knew that he needed to uphold the law for others so that they know that even those who could get away would still be held by law. Ichigo is right for trying to save rukia and saying that he should/could have as well, but it would have been the same kind of corruption that too many with power use to get their will and would be an example of it happening yet again.

I absolutely agree. Especially when you learn the entire story, on how the only reason he felt so bound to the law is because he promised to be to his father's grave, because of the backlash his family received for his actions. He felt personally responsible, even though he did nothing wrong, and said he promised to do better. However he ALSO promised his wife's grave to take care of Rukia, so he was so conflicted. I believe that once he realized what Ichigo was actually fighting, the IDEALS of SS and nit him personally, he felt a sort of freedom. That's why, even though he was in slightly better shape than Ichigo, he with no hesitation declared Ichigo the winner. He didn't just physically win the fight, Ichigo's ideals prevailed over his 💯 this show is much more philosophical than most realize, and it's really amazing when understood properly

Idk if u wanna hear. But a little spoiler When Aizen attacks, we figure out that Rukia was holding the hogyuko right. Well byakuya comes in to risk his life, and take an attack from aizen’s sword, saving Rukia. And when Aizen leaves, byakuya and Ichigo r both hurt. But we figure out, that byakuya says, that he’s forever in ichigos debt. And he’s sitting there shedding tears, saying I thank you Ichigo. Bcs rukias older sister, actually married byakuya right, and her sister died, I don’t remember if it was her mom or not. But her sister left her, and it was her worst mistake, so as she was dying. She looked at byakuya and said protect my sister with ur life. Never let her out of ur sight, and bring her to this house so he set out to do that. And than he broke a law or something, so he not only promised to protect her, he made a serious oath saying he wouldn’t break the law again, so when ichigo went to fight him. He showed him that ur sister is much more worth protecting than the law is, and that’s why he was crying thanking him. Forever and on past that, byakuya HELLLAAAAA took care of Rukia, changed as a man. And protected her with his life, byakuya is a MAD respectable dude, I hated him till I finished all of bleach, the movies, the manga, the tybw series. Now I can see that he is a great character

Now I realized, how Ichigo won against special move of Byakuya, it's because he's unconsciously using Mugetsu Aura, which is black and white Getsuga Tenshou not the normal black and red one
