Protection is useless against board wipes unless they inflict damage or have targets. Wedge was the one who was closest to having lethal damage, thanks to Archangel of Thune + Vizkopa Guildmage.

Yeah, I play shoddy commanders with quirky playstyles, like Blind Seer (who is my favorite commander). Since the deck has a slow build up, I don't really get paid any attention to until later in the game. It's great.

@@C0medySeniorz mill is different from discard, with mill it doesnt matter because they are throwing cards away from their decks, and when you have no cards left and try to draw a card you lose, no matter the life total, you could have 1 million life and I could have one, but if you mill out I win and the life gain is meaningless

In any case whatever strategy wins technically will make the other strategy "irrelevant". it's creature vs mill. Life gain is just the synergy. Mill doesn't make the synergy between the creatures irrelevant. Just like damage to your opponent doesn't stop you from being milled.

I think no one has a right to complain about this not being Commander. Jimmy and Josh work thier butts off to get these done and the quality is FAR better than any other gameplay channels. This may have not been what most people were expecting but, it was an amazing game! It was funny, had really great moments, and in the end came right down to the wire. To me it was a perfect episode. Not only that, but the Prof and Wedge will be coming back for a commander episode later? Amazing. Great job guys! Keep up the good work!

Allan Cerda Yeah basically. It's like when you're kind of in the zone; get overly cocky and forget things. Happens all the time. Professor was looking to swing and deal damage as fast as possible. You can tell that already due to his deck being only 40. Totally jumped the gun though.

I absolutely loved this episode! Finally having Wedge on was a great thing to see on Game Knights! The format was interesting and looks fun. This was one of the best episodes yet in my opinion. As someone who plays MTG mantra is budget, being able to see expensive sets such as Iconic Masters in play is a treat, and the guests keep getting better. Thanks Command Zone for getting me interested in the meta! Also, as someone who got to play Full Box Sealed Trio at GP Birmingham, I'd love the idea of more expansive sealed episodes- gas all the way!

To those complaining this was not EDH. They recorded a bunch of games with their guests while they were together, that you'll see in later episodes.

Eh, I mean they went from having 1 game of edh a month to 1 every 2 and a half months. I think it's fair to be a little disappointed.

jacob blackman I agree. Of the formats, EDH is my soul animal, obviously. However, it still uses the same cards and mechanics as normal games, and multiplayer always has politics, regardless of the format. So everything seen here can still be seen as advice/tips/what-not-to-do's for EDH anyway!!! And sometimes you can just appreciate a bit of fun, and that game was epic; Prof's strong start followed by idiocy (not an insult - love the guy; he said himself he was an idiot in that Pridemate moment) then a loss of confidence, Josh's strong start followed by bad luck, Wedge's strong start followed by not being able to maintain the strength after a board sweep, this game literally had everything you could want from an EDH game in terms of emotion/unpredictability (plus no-one died to damage, which is always interesting) - just pretend it's one where no-one got to cast their commander and enjoy it as a game. PLUS JIMMY FINALLY WON!!!!!

Arjahn ! You realise they're increasing the amount of episodes a year, right? This does not replace one of 2017's EDHs - this is extra. You will still get roughly 12 EDH episodes a year, most likely more, AND have extra fun, bonus episodes like this that would never even have existed before. And actually, if you checked the post dates rather than emotionally crying out in ignorant offense without having looked at any evidence, you'd realise we've already been seeing an average shortening between posting dates of EDH games of Game Knights, rather than an average lengthening of 6 weeks, so what you claim isn't even true anyway.

By far the most fun Game Knights yet, anyone complaining this isn't Commander should be happy there's one coming. But I came to you guys at first for Commander and have gotten so much more, my favorite pair in Magic for all of that. Thanks for a great episode!

Question:Since the professor had the legendary that draws you seven cards each turn shouldnt he play with more than the minimum cards so that he doesnt mill himself?Im not an experienced magic player so im curious.

He could, but with less cards he could make his draws more consistent. It just a balancing game between getting what you need and milling out
