The impact of gender-based inequalities and sexual harassment is often thought of at the individual level but what is the impact on private sector development and women's economic empowerment? What policies and approaches can governments and the private sector use to achieve equality in the labour market and to rid the workplace of sexual harassment to promote private sector development and women's economic empowerment? In this session, speakers will share insights into the impact of gender-based inequalities and sexual harassment on private sector development and women's economic empowerment as well as highlight the policies and approaches from Africa (Malawi), Caribbean (Jamaica) and Pacific (Papua New Guinea) that have been used by governments and the private sector to help create a gender inclusive workplace. There will also be space for peer-to-peer exchanges in this session.
