Man this video is awesome! I grew up in Pamlico County/Craven County, I’ve been up and down Goose Creek a few times, grew up on the Neuse River, ate at the Sanitary countless times, and over the past few years I’ve been fortunate enough to be stationed in Germany so this was a sight for sore eyes. I stumbled on this series and have been loving it!

Used to go to Emerald Isle every year for a week. Once drove to Morehead city cause my buddy wanted to get his first tattoo. Got tatted in a house/tattoo shop. The kitchen was the station area, licensed and everything. My buddy got an off the wall awful tribal dolphin mess, then went next door to Wendy's and ate in the living/flash showroom and watched "How High" with random folks just hanging out while I fell asleep in the kitchen getting the beginnings of a back peice I designed. Never fell asleep getting inked before. Must've been the salty air, sun, a little Bourbon and the homey feel of the place lol

Sorry I wasted your time with a question on fuel burn on another video. After going through your videos of the trip from NY to Fl, you have answered that question many times over. For someone who has been studying boats and watching KZfaq for years getting ready for the day when I retire and purchase my boat, you have THE ABSOLUTELY BEST AND MOST INFORMATIVE videos of anything out there. I love setting up Google maps and following you south on your trip, clicking back and forth from your video and the maps. Thank you for the time and attention to detail you have put into these videos.

My schooner drew 5 ft. Crossing the inlets was tricky. My boat had a 9.9 kicker, not much for a 35 ft boat. Low tide was the best time for an underpowered boat. I did not want to be sucked out into the ocean and beaches if my engine failed. I did not run aground at all, not like @ the parking lot. Ware I SPENT 3 DAYS & NITES ON THE HARD W/ NO WATER AROUND.

Most loopers travel north on east coast. We’re calling this trip the “reverse half loop”. Lol
@peterfarrell9187
@peterfarrell9187 Жыл бұрын
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs And there are very few, very few who do the loop in its entirety. Navigating the Ohio into the Mississippi with all the barge traffic is daunting to even the most seasoned captains, and their boats. This boat spent a summer in the Chesapeake, Canal into the Delaware River, Cape May NJ. We did the Hudson River to the East River, Long Island sound, Marthas Vinyard, Nantucket, Then Newport RI, back to NYC Hudson River, Eire canal to Lake Ontario, St. Lawerance Seaway to Montreal, Comey canal into Lake Champlain to Hudson River, Erie Canal a second pass through To Lake Ontario, Trent Severn Waterway into Georgian Bay, North Channel of Georgian Bay, Lake Huron through the Mackinaw Pass into Lake Michigan, and finally into Sturgeon Bay Wi. where it was sold.

I hope you don't mind questions... if so, ignore it. How does the boat do running at such low rpms for so long? I kind of figured it would be a problem for gas engines. I'm thinking of a big trip like this and your videos are very helpful.
@AdventuresofHappyOurs
@AdventuresofHappyOurs Жыл бұрын
I’ve never had a problem. Modern motors should have no issues running low rpm. I do occasionally open her up a bit to get past storms and make better time as you’ll see in a few episodes.

Real bad current going through that section where you said they need to learn how to drive; but I think maybe a lot of ships have lost power and hit it or got lost in the fog and hit it. Might want to think of all possibilities before trying to lay blame on just one culprit causing a problem here.
