I can vouch for the TL's. I owned an 04 Acura TL w only 130K miles on it from an auction for about 4.5K bucks. This is by far the best car I've ever had. Such a great horsepower, ridiculous comfort & fairly reasonable cost maintenance. I changed oils (engine and transmission) often and this car got me from bumper to bumper So Cal traffic to Nevada's Las Vegas, the iconic Grand Canyon, Utah, Arizona, Oregon, & all the way to Space Needle in Seattle WA with no problem, I used to also drive 8 hrs straight to North Cal every so often, drove to General Sherman in Sequoia. And I had such fun and enjoymetn from driving it. My car never went to a shop Thank God!). Honestly Most reliable car ever all the way to almost 250K miles when I sold it. I wish I still had it tbh & I hope the person who owns it now takes care of it as much as I did when I had it. I truly miss that car.

1. Acura TL, 04-08 is their recommendation, 08-12 is good too. Reliable luxury sports sedan. Similar to the Infiniti G35/G37 and Hyundai Genesis Coupe in that they are affordable Luxury performance. In the 2000-2016 era everyone wanted to take on the BMW 3. 2. Honda Accord V6. Much cheaper V6 than TL. Acura TSX is cool too. 3. Scion tC and Toyota Celica and Toyota Corolla XRS. Very similar to the Acura RSX and Acura Integra and Honda Civic Si. 4. Honda CRV and Toyota RAV4. With America's garbage roads with potholes everywhere SUV's are a fair answer. 5. Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, kinda cool like the SN95 Ford Mustang and New Edge Mustang. Same brand that gave us the Pontiac G8 and GTO. 6. Lexus ES300

I’ve had several 6th gen accords, once you have a clean one you become addicted to its simple but clean body lines and timeless look. The aftermarket supports is there but there isn’t a lot of bolt on options for a substantial amount of power. The F23 and J30 are neither very fast, but very reliable. Th v6 only came in automatic, while the 4cyl came in both auto and manual. The auto transmissions pretty much leave the chat after about 280-340k, but the manuals last so long. There are several engine swaps that are almost direct drop in for this chassis, like the J32 6MT from a TL type S, as well as F20B, H23A, H22A etc. Overall great car that you will love and get attached to, as well as want to mod.

Not one engine swap is ever just plug and play bro, not only will you have to modify wiring, fuel system etc. Then you will need someone to program that ecu with your vin number, and have fun making it pass emissions depending on your state laws. I would suggest working on the chassis first, replace all your suspension bushings, quality coil overs, stiffer sway bars.. it has 250k on the clock, I'm guessing those parts are more than tired. No sense in making it faster if it wont handle for crap

Celica Gang!! i daily an 03 GTS TRD. its basically a Integra type r by Toyota. 8000k RPM, Toyota VTEC, amazing handling, and a fraction of the price of the Integra. its got it all. and that 2zz-ge is the best sounding, most engaging engine I've ever driven. many are faster, but so few are having as much fun as I am, especially for the 4k I paid for it. and I hammer on this thing everyday on my commute to work, but even at 340k, she runs like dream and has never let me down once

Also to add on when you do find aftermarket parts they tend to be overpriced due to it being rare,on top of that all manual accords came with 4 lug set up which isn’t the best when trying to find wheels especially since it’s a bigger civic so your basic 16 inch wheels look like baby shoes on it. You can alway do the five lug swap but just be ready to waste some money

@@newreformationapologetics4953 I understand the pile of variables, curb weight being the biggest, weight distribution, etc. Let's just be real though, for the majority of people watching these videos, quality adjustable coil overs, stiffer roll bars and good tires will make damn near anything handle like it's on rails, it might not have 50/50 weight distribution but it would definitely be much more satisfying to drive. I own and drive a 98 b5 a4, 2.8l 30v v6, 5 speed manual, all wheel drive, it's fun as hell to drive, while my other car a 2008 cobalt ss turbocharged is fun but only going straight ( which is funny to say seeing as the 08 turbo was a record holder on the nurburgring), but I guess fun would be all up to perspective.

Since you picked a Pontiac Gran Prix, here's another abandoned GM product: 2004-2007 Saturn Vue V6. For those years Saturn installed Honda 3.5L V6 engines (J35S1) and Honda 5 speed transmissions. There was even an AWD version. That's pretty much the same engine as in the Odyssey, Pilot, Ridgeline, V6 Accord, and Acura MDX. Lots of power and plenty of parts available. My Honda guy calls it the "Poor Man's CR-V". It even has more interior space than the CRV (but it doesn't come with the cool table). There are lots of these available for less than $3k. I paid $750 for mine, did about $1500 in maintenance (timing belt kit, water pump, shocks, brakes, etc.), and couldn't be happier.

Unfortunately for me some lady wasn't paying attention to her driving and SLAMMED ME FROM BEHIND, it was TOTALED. This happened just when the USED CAR PRICES started to SKYROCKET. The insurance company would NOT REPLACE my car so that put me in a BAD SITUATION, my birthday was coming up and I didn't want to get caught without transportation so I bought a '97 Chevy Tahoe for RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION but of course it doesn't get very good gas mileage which now is TERRIBLE CONSIDERING THE PRICE OF GAS NOW.
