The yellow is one of my favorites. Glad I held on to my e46, best analog car on the streets. Having driven the last gen m4 you get more personality with the e46.

I think there is something special about the E46 M3. I drove both an SMG and a 6 speed manual. There is nothing wrong with the SMG, but the manual is preferable, of course. The last E46 I drove was beat to hell. It had something like 150K miles, everything in the interior was falling apart. But that power train was damn near bulletproof. That car refused to die.

Missed out on the E46 M3 at their cheapest in the U.K., bought about 5-7 years too late and had to pay a premium for a good one... however still a bargain and absolutely love it! 100% a keeper!!! SMG is awesome as long as you’ve had the CSL software upgrades done!

I own one it’s a great car. Drive it from time to time. 125k miles. I’ve driven quite a few cars. The M4 is a beast and underrated from the factory. Slays the canyons. But it’s too much power. E46 is just right to have good fun without losing your license. You may get tickets

Never seen this guys channel but I know why I was recommended the google gods know me and the love for the M3, and mr ideal I have to say you nailed it almost perfectly. I have had 3 E46, one 3 series, and two M3’s. Over 11 years. Top of the daily driving food chain as far as my opinion (yes I have also driven many other cars and am not just a bmw nut) the facts he is stating are why. ..anywho the reason for my comment, maintenance: one was normal with the odd repair expected, one was brutal with $10k plus in upkeep over 3 years ... before a drunk driver hit me and it had been perfectly running for 6 months....ughghghg. Then I purchased another from a local car club friend who was moving on and I still only regular upkeep, it is I think bang for buck the best. The smiles, the looks, the love, and now the history. I fear the day I lose this one and won’t be able to justify another at classic demand. Idc to sell really so for now, M3 is king and always has been for me.

Owned my factory manual lci for 6 years now. Bought at the bottom of the price cycle by sheer luck and now they're very expensive. Love everything about it. Even the lack of reliability at times lol

Glad I bought mine when I did. 06 competition package with 80k miles. Love it and got a pretty good deal on it. Smg is the only thing I don't much like but it's grown on me.

I don’t know if I would necessarily avoid swapped cars. I got mine done from a reputable shop and it feels identical to a stock manual except all of my parts to make up the manual are brand new. It’s a pretty straight forward swap and as long as the bell housing is correct there should be no issues with it.

I got one for 3 years now. It's a ton of fun to drive and the design is just stunning and timeless. I have a manual, which is just one step up as a fun factor, but if you buy an SMG, I advice to tune the ECU by TTSF Tune, it makes the SMG better then the improve CSL SMG. Well worth the money.

Despite SMG being a POS transmission, there’s one good thing about it... It’s still a manual transmission. You can get rid of the SMG pump (which is responsible for hydraulically shifting gears) with a working clutch pedal.

Don’t worry these cars may go up but not substantially as they still require expensive maintenance and the people buying them possible won’t spend 2k plus pa Upkeep No rush to buy one as there far better performance cars to buy and a massive wide choice Shall I do a video telling people how supercars will be cheap as chips in 5 years

330ci 5 speed manual with a stroker kit will be equivalent to it for less than 8k you could save for bigger breaks and get air suspension ....

I lucked up back in April and bought my 05 M3 right at 15k. Seriously one of the cleanest examples i’ve seen. Dealers couldn’t move inventory during covid so it was marked down almost 8k. Is seriously clean too. Even the little rear center console rolling door is brand new. Yes it’s an SMG car but I caught it right before this latest price hike. 110k miles on it and at first I didn’t want to rack up miles on it but that’s not me. Car will be driven.... properly. Value will keep rising and I will keep it in perfect condition till I decide to part with it which I have no plan on doing so mileage be dammed.

this guy knows his shit. good video. only thing i don't get is why people hate on manual swaps. i did mine 5 years ago and put 77k miles on it (including many track days) and it's never given me problems

Some other cars, sure. How about the E89 - Z4M Roadster or Coupe both have the same S54 engine with many of the M3 issues sorted out on lighter chassis and they are a serious driver’s car.

Had an ‘06 ZCP Stick shift along with an ‘06 Exige which were bomb at the time no question but today these dudes will just get blown away by today’s A-bomb - Tesla Model 3 Performance which does 0-60 in 3.2-3.4s coupled with beemer handling and road feel 🙈 (coming from a Petrolhead)

I don't know much about the KW V3 or coilovers. Can it close the tirewell gap, give a level look while giving good road shock\holding capabilities for the E46 M3?

Funny you showed the rear door interior falling off the top seal around the door on BMW is common Civic Si great performance, though 2005 coupe don't recommend trying a tune up its an inch windshield wiper support and cannot tune up unless you have a lift and drop the engine.

Nothing wrong is getting one that was converted from SMG to manual. The trans is the same. If properly done you can't tell it was ever SMG.

I owned the a 2002 laguna seca blue exterior with matching leather interior convertible - It was a real head turner! I ended up selling it to an enthusiast in Bangkok of all places before emigrating from UK to NZ in Jan 2017. I will forever miss my e46 m3 but glad I can say that I once owned one.

Got any more information about the infiniti G37/Q60. Possibly the convertible with possibly manual transmission. 😁😁

The M3s are good but if you can't find those. The e46 330Ci is still an amazing car. I daily mine and she has 207k miles and still going strong.

Best blend of engineering plus the right amount of technology. It's the best M3 hands down. Convertible is amazing with the soundtrack right behind you. Reckon it's the best 4 seat sports convertible ever made. Coupe is a genuine track car. E92 is good but the engine has problems and it's softer than the E46 with just a bit too much technology. E46 won't be attainable for $30k for much longer - the market has gone insane for these cars.

Selling my 04 tiag 6 speed was one of the saddest days of my life, it was literally my daily and I must of got a good one because I had no major problems in 90k Miles. If you get the subframe done your good. Arghh I wish I just kept it, I have been looking for one the last couple months and mine exact spec that I sold in 2015 is $10k more now, crazy.
