Crv. That is the worst car in the honda line up. Same for the 2020+ Explorer with their electrical issues. Totally disagree with the WRX, why would someone buy a driver oriented sport car with CVT; a person who afraid of commitment and a chicken. There are way more wrx with 6speed sold compared to CVT. The interior is an improvement over the previous gen apart from the 11in screen that freeze up. Overall the 2022 wrx is better expected, Subaru had to keep the power and emissions down so they can continue sell it in the American market

Yeah, for "a steep price" of 30k you get a very capable platform which the internet proved countless times. However I do think the "new" cvt is ok though, its "shifts" are convincing, the bigger problems are its heavy as hell and it cannot hold power at all. If only it had a dct and better designers, everyones petty reasons for hating this car would disappear lmao
@tungnguyen4074

@@seffseffseffseffseff1662 30k is a decent price. Nobody out here make turbo 4 cylinders with good awd and stick shift. Subaru will never use dot because they have more problems than the CVT. Do you want to pay over $1000 for a new set of dual clutch, I don't think so. Subaru has invested way too much money into CVT system. Also it has one gear, and the computer is programmed to emulate those shift by slightly jerk the chain that drive the system. And yet the CVT is heavier than the manual because of the extra computer and oil passages to operate the transmission
@estuardo2985
@estuardo2985 7 ай бұрын
Probably almost any of the overly small engines with a turbo slapped on especially when the pair it with a CVT. These include a long list like Malibu. 1.5L with a turbo and CVT for lowest msrp of 26k which is the same for the base Camry that has a 2.5L naturally aspirated with a normal transmission. To add the camry has 40 more hp and has better gas mileage. And really you might as well add a lot of the GMC/buick/chevy/caddillac into that. Any Ford "ecoboost". Alot of hondas like the civic, a lot of Nissans, Kia/Hyundais etc.

@@giminai8000 I count seeing any Tesla on this list to be a step in the right direction. I can see the pitchforks and torches of the Tesla fanboys in the distance. Agreed though, the model S has a tendency to burst into flames. The lightning likes to give you false hope on range expectation. And the Hummer EV is little more than a show piece. It likes to freak out when doing simple tasks like... going off road, lol. This video was a good list overall. I didn't know Honda and Subaru were jumping on board the CV catastrophe train. That's a bit of a shocker to me. The Tiguan I didn't expect. The others are understandable. I did expect to see a Maserati on this list. Could be symptom of beating a dead horse though. I would like to see a "cars you would hate yourself if you don't buy at all costs" video. Maybe it exists and I just missed it, don't know. Most new cars these days kinda suck on the reliability scale. Afterall, reliability is the enemy of the cheddar. So long as there is a sucker born every minute, there will always be a scam of the day. These days, the scam artists just run everything... Almost everything. Innovation still exists. Its just harder to find.

I got a 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti Sport. I was terrified of the reliability talk but still wanted to try the handling, styling, and uniqueness of this Italian beauty. I love it, and so far has been flawless for me. For every 40 3 series or c class I see, I see 1 Giulia, it’s a cool “exotic” feel still. Regular maintenance is costly as it is for all entry level luxury vehicles. Don’t let people scare you too far from this beauty. I mean have you seen those BMW dealer service shops, packed! It’s an amazing car. I do realize the dealer network is bad in some areas but here in Chicago suburbs I have like 4-5 Alfa dealers to choose from within 25 minute drives.

@TheHuskyK9 It depends on what your definition of a better experience is. If you want a nice interior, good mpgs, and a somewhat entertaining car to drive, the SI is for you. If you want performance, awd, and tuning capabilities, the WRX is going to be the far better option. I test drove the SI, while the interior was nicer than the WRX, and I love the redesign, the rev hang was atrocious, and it really is lacking in power. The new WRX has way better modification and tuning potential while still making a great daily driver. It's just a way more entertaining car to drive, and for the price point, it is a great value for enthusiasts.

People have lots of problems with the Chevy 2.4 when they extend their oil changes past 5000mi and/or run it low on oil. As you said the transmissions really don’t have issues as long as u change the fluid every 60-90k it’s really just engine problems that ruins the whole car. I would bet you $50 that on at least one of those equinoxes if you’ve owned them since new you’ve had to change out the vvt solenoids, also referred to as “camshaft actuators”. The bill would’ve been between 200-350$. They fail on every last Gdi 2.4 that’s been put out

You’re wrong about the Accent, especially the performance. My wife got a new 2019 Accent 4.5 years ago. It currently has 60k miles on it and we’ve never had any problems with it. There was a couple of recalls that were all taken care of, but never any issues. The Accent also performs great. Its the fastest SUV in its class by about a full second 0-60 over its competitors. It also handles amazing for a 7 passenger SUV, because most of its competitors have transverse V6s while the Accent has a longitudinal boxer engine. At the time we test drove it against the Honda Pilot and the Toyota Highlander and the Accent stood out as the best one to drive, and it wasn’t even close.

I feel like people love hating on Subaru. In my opinion, for 34,000$ Canadian, you get a symmetrical AWD performant car.. it's a steal.

Consumer reports is stupid. The new wrx have been very reliable. They took everything that people wanted from the fa20 and put it in the fa24. It is stronger in every way including reliability. Prime motoring got 539whp before the injectors couldn’t hold up. The wrx segment was very bad in this video

Great to not mention the manual on the WRX - I've driven both the manual and the CVT in the 22 WRX and I personally enjoy the manual more, but the CVT works well enough for most drivers. I love driving the '22 WRX, handles well, and I like the looks, no one guesses it's going to be quick and handle well but man does it. Ideal media is slowly losing my interest with hot takes that are just uninspired and unjustified.

Honda jumped the shark not putting the turbo in the HRV. but the rest of that car is well bult. I would love nothing more than that AR. G. Never going to happen with the basement resale value. Too bad the Sentra sucks so hard. Its a good looking affordable choice for budget minded folks. Dammit Subaru. So people don't buy standards ever heard of a dual clutch. At least for this one model. Anyone that goes German or Korean does so knowing troubles brewing. There are some reasonably priced, dependable almost fun to drive cars still out there but keep in mind they probably won't have 3 cylinders. 0:02

Good and fun informative video but I’m confused…. I love the idea of Jeep Wranglers for the fun… definitely aware of all the issues of reliability. But this video is about vehicles to stay away from yes…. How did the bronco not only *not* make this this list but somehow you pegged it as a great alternative to the wrangler… alternative choice I understand but I keep hearing horrible things about the broncos reliability as well…. I wish Toyota would bring back the FJ-40 in a retro style… now THAT would most likely be a reliable alternative

Yeah, it's really underpowered from the factory 😢 I fell in love with it after tons of reviews and videos. And even found a guy who would allow me to ride the one. But... it takes ages for it to accelerate from the stop 😞. After the Mini Cooper S it felt like a serious downgrade. And speaking of the interior... it's rattling as hell even on the smooth road. So "I met my hero" and got disappointed 😞

And after I researched what mods can be installed, the top tier is the turbo. But spending over 7k on turbo (only, w/o any supporting mods) which is already installed on the WRX from the factory seems like a bankrupting idea
@christopherlowery855
@christopherlowery855 Жыл бұрын
@@OleksandrDanylchenko2k there's one acronym I want you to memorize. PWR (Power to Weight Ratio). Granted, the STi has more stock torque and HP than the baby BRZ. Howerver, where the BRZ shines is in curb weight. The 2022 STi has a curb weight of 3450, vs the BRZ at 2835. That's 615lbs lighter. The two cars have close to the same PWR (WRX: 0.085, BRZ: 0.080). You slap a quality aftermarket turbo on the side of that BRZ and you'll be eating STis for breakfast. Granted, the MSRP difference is only around $1600, but if I was buying to build, the BRZ is the way I would go. If I was buying for stock, yeah, the STi is a no-brainer. Just know, it's no lethal weapon against the BRZ, unless your passenger weighs 400lbs. Obviously, milage will vary. The cooper S has a BMW "Twin Power" turbo I4. It's basically a sequential twin turbo. ANY NA would feel slow by comparison. Don't let your dream die.

I haven't bought a new car in years. Mostly because dealerships are robbing people BROKE! They won't stop until we stop buying all new cars. We have the majority rule. Use it against them and bring car prices back to earth. Another reason is because I have been driving my 2004 Saab 95 aero for 10 years with zero payment, less than a Hundred a month on insurance, annnnnd it still gets 20 in the city and 32 on the highway. Plus it's reliable. Best 2k I've ever spent.
