Thanks for the suggestion but I don’t think we are so desperate to use this app or whatever, apple just should build it it in the system and let its clients go around for such simple things

Re-watched your video thinking this is a cool idea. Great tip and liked the Fliqlo app. The app can tune down the brightness is a plus! Thank you! To make the app launch easily, added as a back tap on my iPhone to call a shortcut. The shortcut would launch the app and start Guided access at the same time.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus right now and I love AOD on Samsung phones. Actually, that's the only reason I'm not buying an iPhone for the moment. Call me silly, but AOD is a super cool and a very useful feature to me.

This is not a real lock screen. It’s basically freezing the display on that application that shows the clock. Apple needs to add such options by default already!

It’s definitely coming on iPhone 14 Pro models. Reference to AOD have been found in IOS 16 developer beta.

With Android my phone is always blacked out. A feature it offers so as to not to drain the battery. When the phone gets a message or any activity, a date stamp and a message icon comes on and it stays on the screen to see without waking up the phone. I guess the app you're showing doesn't have that feature.

while most android already has variant type of always on display since several years ago but iphone still dont have this option set as default . as an android user who changes to apple recently i feel so restricted 😂 need to pay for music , ringtones and such while android dont have to.

At least there is an option for people that want it. Although I think that’s too much work to have to triple click to like every time. But at the same time Apple doesn’t really allow for much customization so at least people that are that dedicated have an option. I wonder if Apple is worried about burn in maybe that’s why they don’t allow always on display

I ran into an issue, my notifications are blocked (don't come through) while in Guided Access.

Any giant screensaver clock that can’t move around the screen will have a major burn in! How about using smaller AOD apps like Myla, Natta or OLEDX?! 🤷🏻‍♂️ Thank me later. 😉

I want the always on display feature to keep track of my time when I am making presentations on Zoom or in person. I have a laptop stand that has a phone holder and I want to be able to glance at it and see the time without distracting the viewers. The large display looks great but not sure I want to go through all these steps. I think that until Apple figures out a way to convince their fans that AOD is the newest and greatest thing they’ve ever come up with (even tho’ they’re way behind Android phones on this feature) I’ll just stick with my digital Atomic clock. And by the way, I do love my iPhone 12ProMax - I just get frustrated with Apple’s incremental updates that never quite catch up with the Android features.

No text notifications when using this and only one ring when receiving a call, and it immediately goes to voicemail.

This trick doesn’t work on the iPhone SE (2nd gen) cannot have a clock app running on a locked screen or locked device

Tried this but can’t get phone calls or notifications at all so was pointless

My iPhone works great without always on display, honestly wouldn’t even care if they added it or not. I put my phone out of my pocket and the screen turns on from raise to wake . Good enough for me

I think this is great only for when you’re getting ready for bed, phone on nightstand on the charger, and have a nice big clock to look over to at night. I think most people here are missing the point.

Apple… has all the hardware to do it ( like on Apple Watch) but wait for iPhone 14/iOS 16 to introduce a “new” feature… come on.

I just switched from Android to iPhone last week, and this has been one of the more annoying details for the iPhone so far. The Galaxy phones have a very simple selection for AOD that lets you see the time from wherever you set your phone down (desk at work, kitchen table at home, etc.). No need to triple select this, double select that, see if my phone (that I bought outright, it's actually my phone) recognizes me and I get permission to see what time it is. That's probably the biggest complaint I have with iPhones, you can actually own your phone, you paid the asking price in full, but you still have to ask permission to do what you want to do with your own phone. It's only been a week, the jury is still out on if I'll stay with an iPhone. Apple really has to loosen up.

Even if the iPhone had always on display, I would just deactivate it. I’ll save battery and display burn in. I mean how hard is it to tab the screen? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Even though it's already available on every OLED screen Android device today, and has been out for more than 6yrs now. The arrogant dictatorial control which apple superimposes over it's flock is mind boggling and stomach sickening.
