10:11 - Why did he give the guard the side eye? This horse isn't a ventriloquist's dummy! It's a real, breathing, living being that acts on its own! If he doesn't want you near, he has every right to bite! Pay attention to the signs, and if you're not sure about whether or not you should do something, than err on the side of caution, and don't do it. So simple!

What really bugs me they go close to the horse when he turns his head they push it away if they don't want slobber back off leave the horse alone if I pushed you you would have me arrested for assault but they can slap the horse and get away with it no wonder they are starting to bite bless them

Seeing all the toddlers holding hands in matching vests reminded me of pre-princess Diana! Her nursery school days. I know the monarchy didn't always appreciate her but she really set them up for future success with William...and, now Princess Catherine, George, Charlotte and Louis...it's been quite apparent she raised an honourable son.

Why do people insist on getting really close the horse & wanting to pet it for a picture? Like people, the horses get sick & tired of having strangers petting & crowding them. Parents getting their children to stand really close to an animal they don’t know just for the sake of a picture! ARE THEY INSANE?!!

These are not placid ponies that you find at the riding school. Most are retired race horses or their progeny. The are feisty, bite and kick. So says the sign for all to see.
@dianekruger59772 ай бұрын
They are not Thoroughbreds. Have more draft breed in them, hence their size.
@dianekruger59772 ай бұрын
Generally draft breeds are more docile, only bite or kick when they feel threatened or intimidated. Another point to make, thoroughbreds generally don't get that tall either.
@monicawarner40912 ай бұрын
@Steve1734 • These Cavalry horses are neither retired race horses nor their progeny. They are specially bred in Ireland for the Household Cavalry, and are a cross between an Irish Draft horse and a thoroughbred. A race horse would not be able to bear the weight of a man in full ceremonial dress uniform for any length of time. They must be a minimum of 16 hands high, although most are taller, quite a few reaching 18 hands or more. They are bought by H Cav at the age of three or four and are officially members of the British Armed forces, holding the rank of Trooper...just like most of their riders. They usually retire after around 15years of service. 🙂
@nicolanicole-brandenburg9172 ай бұрын
They are NOT retired race horses..! Irish Draught Horses… begin training at 4 years Chosen fir their strength and temperament suitable for ceremonial roles.. They have to be at least 16.5 hands

This fraud of a cruel show, needs to stop. Forcing those horses to stand on hard ground, with weight on for hours, with no water, is beyond cruel. They could at the very least lay down some AstroTurf or hay, so its not so hard on their feet. The bit is also causing them a great deal of discomfort. There should also been a barrier up so people can not get so close. I did notice how much having kids around seemed to calm the horse down. He always stayed nearly still and gentle when the kids came up.

@k18962 ай бұрын
Please do some research on the Guards and Horses, these are trained Military men and Horses and are very well looked after. The Horses do get water when needed on hot days, they are only on Duty for one hour then taken back to the Stables, they work maybe 2-3 days of the week, the rest of the days they run around in paddocks and train. What you say is a cruel show, is part of the British History why should it stop, it brings in tourism. The guards and Horses that you see at Royal events and Royal Funerals are the same Guards and Horses that you will see on these videos. As for a Barrier, No you cannot put a barrier up simply because if the Horse gets spooked (which they sometimes do) the damage and injury it would cause the Horse and Guard, People just need to show both respect and use common sense.
