I just received this as a gift today for Christmas. I love lattes and I always have to go to Starbucks daily to get them, so I asked for a latte machine and I received this. I basically have zero knowledge on how to do anything other than put coffee in a Keurig and press start so hopefully I can use this beautiful machine to its fullest potential

Hi Slawek, can you share your settings for the Lavazza Super Crema. I'm having a hard time dial this bean in. I have grind 5, time 17sec (17g), and 32s brew time ( includes preinfusion). When I make a latte, the overall taste is diluted and bland. I don't taste the coffee at all, its like theres only milk. I only use the 1st line on the metal milk frothing container, for an overall 10-12oz drink.

I just got the B. Touch . When do you choose the feature with the 2 cups on the grinding setting and also on the brew setting?. Also choosing a single or double brew basket can you explain or do a video on the details . Also on changing the settings . I am underextracted with a moist puck I am bringing down the setting to more fine , I increased the grinding time, which has more influence ? Can you go over this and also the brew water settings, such as temperature and amount of water. It would be a great video explains the details on these things to hone in on a better cup and taste . Thank you!

I had one and could dial it in probably 70% of the time and get pretty good shots. But overall I found it temperamental and the activity lost its nobility pretty quickly. So I just bought a super automatic machine instead. Makes better coffee espresso every single time without the hassle. Look into a Jura perhaps

Hi, I bought a Barista touch recently. However, when I pull a shot of espresso, the machine dispensed around 5.5 oz of water which makes the espresso too watery to drink. I understand a proper dose of water should be 1 oz for single shot and 2 oz for double shot. How do I solve this issue? This is my second machine I get through Breville exchange program.

Hi, I'm sorry but I shot the video a long time ago and I don't recall the specifics. Usually I recommend about 18 grams for a double shot of espresso and an extract time between 22 and 30 seconds. That's a good place to start but I've had great shots that took longer to extract but generally speaking it's better to avoid over extraction as over extracted shots usually taste awful.

@@iDrinkCoffeeCanada thanks so much for getting back to me!! I just made a “small” americano using 18 grams beans, set 22 seconds for Brewing, and left 32 seconds for Water as system default. Guys, you have to grind the coffee beans more. If it pours fast it’s because the grains are too “big” and the water escapes faster. Check the video of the Barista Express where Gail explains it!

How do I make the perfect latte? As in, what are the proper settings in terms of grind size and time?
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada 5 жыл бұрын
Hi, it is hard for me to give you a number for the grind size because this depends on your coffee. Different coffee has different bean sizes and densities so they all grind a little bit differently. I suggest aiming for 30ml for a single or 60ml for a double in about 25 to 30 seconds. If your coffee is extracting faster adjust your grind finer if it extracting faster adjust your grind coarser. If you are within that range your coffee will be pretty good.

Hi please tell me the best settings for a cup of cappuccino like how much time for grinding and Brew and what's the best temperature for frothing
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada Жыл бұрын
Hi, generally for a shot of espresso you want about 30ml in 30 seconds or for a double 60ml in 30 seconds, so you would adjust the grinder until you hit this target. It's not possible to give numbers because every coffee is different, a lot depends on the density, moisture content and roast of the coffee beans you are using. My personal preference for milk is on the cooler side, ie 140-150 degrees Fahrenheit or about 60 to 65 degrees Celsius. This leads to a sweeter taste. If your milk temperature is higher I find you lose the natural sweetness of milk.

This is a matter of personal preference but traditionally a single shot of espresso is 30ml and a double is 60ml. A cappuccino is 1/3 espresso, 1/3 steamed milk and 1/3 milk foam. There is really no standard for a latte but it usually has more milk than a cappuccino. I like lattes in a 200ml cup with a double shot of espresso and steamed milk.

Something I don't get with all Breville is that in order to use the automatic function of the milk wand, you have to set it DEEP near the bottom of the pot but in order to make a cappucino and froth your milk, the real technique is to set the bottom of the wand halfway through the surface so you can inject as much air as possible, and then once the temperature is about the same as your hands, you immerse the tip of the wand about 2cm from the top of ur milk this time to incorporate the bubbles into your milk until you find the temperate you want to drink your milk at. There's no way it's gonna do all that automatically if the positionning which is the most important part, is all wrong :o No wonder I always found the Breville Oracle from my mom to be total garbage for frothing milk and doing cappucinos until I learned the correct technique which made it already quite better, but still a bit far from what I can do with my (Rcket R58).

mohamed farid every coffee is going to be a little different because coffees have different bean sizes and densities so it normal to have to adjust your grinder. See what it is set to, but also you shouldn't be too worry if it starts too quick, as long as your ratios of extraction are good such as (1:2, 1:3) within 25-30 seconds. What matters is the results, not so much how you got there. Her Oracle is getting worse and worse, it oftens start pouring after 20-25 seconds like wtf. You're way better off with a real Espresso machine and a quality grinder seperately than this overpriced POS from Breville if I can give my honest opinion. If you're about to spend that much on the Touch then just go like me with a (Rocket R58 + Rocket Fausto) and you'll be wayyy better served as long as you have some knowledge of how to use it.

It took me weeks to dial this bad boy in. Get a scale. Shoot for 17 grams coffee running at 28 seconds yielding 34 grams finished espresso. Make sure to heat your portafilter. A cold portafilter yields bitter coffee

Hi Slawek, I want to buy a new coffee machine for my home. Taste of coffee is very important for me and I usually drink flat white or latte. I’ve 3 options difficult to decide best for money and taste. Breville oracle touch, barista touch and Delonghi primadonna elite 650.85 which one do you advice?
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada 5 жыл бұрын
Hi, I don't have much experience with the Primadonna but generally speaking a traditional machine with a portafilter makes better coffee than a super automatic. The Oracle and Barista Touch also have amazing milk frothing which will makes your lattes and flat whites amazing. The main difference between the Oracle and Barista is that the Oracle has two boilers and it is more automated. It grinds and tamps automatically but it also costs twice as much so you will have to decide what is right for your home.

iDrinkCoffeeCanada Thanks very much for your comments. Besides these machines, Do you have additional advice for the machine good results and may be more economic for the price.

@@mehmetalp3835 certainly, a machine like the Gaggia Claissc Pro is likely the best value for the money in my opinion. You can pair this with a nice grinder and make great coffee. The only downside is that it would be a little slower for milk drinks which are your preference because it is a single boiler dual purpose but the price can't be beat for an Italian made machine

Im sorry what? You cant just say that it creates the perfect milk when it definitely doesn't. There is no way to beat the manual process of steaming your own milk. It's not hard to learn

How can you trust a coffee review where the reviewer says "expresso" ffs.
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, were did I say that? I have worked in the industry for quite a few years and I am well aware that the word is espresso. This is actually because there is no letter x in Italian. The word is derived from "express' because espresso is fast. There are many countries in the world were the pronounciation is Expresso.

@@iDrinkCoffeeCanada nice try! Unfortunately, it was a swing and a miss for you. Espresso is derived from the Italian for "pressed out" 🤦‍♂️🤣🤣🤣 Hence "expresso" is never correct.
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada

@@Evan-zj5mt it's honestly not what I was taught when I got into the industry but mistakes are made to be corrected. You are right. I also found another interesting tidbit on the etymology of the word that suggests the term caffe espress means "made to order" expressly for the person ordering it. This use predates the invention of espresso machines. I like words, thank you for your comments and correction.

I have just bought this machine and regret a lot! I wish l would have gone with a rocket. I thought this machine would be easy for such a beginner like me but honestly it gives very watery coffee and very cold .l tried finer grind but this time it even can not brew any! This machine is only capable of doing coffee with course grind and it comes out watery so. And when we compare these with its price, this machine nothing but regret. By the way milk foam is also disgusting very foam up but all liquid milk under😩
