Thank you so much jay. This is to encourage everyone who are scared. If I can do it, you can even do it better because English isn’t my thing especially when it comes to writing essay and reading. I was giving so many materials to prepare myself for the ielts but they were just to complex for me.. one day as I was browsing out some channels on KZfaq, I came across jay channel and his way of teachings really helped me out. He’s the best teacher so far when it comes to breaking things down to your level. I only had two weeks to prepare and I only watched lots of jays videos even despite watching his videos, I wasn’t really that serious due to work but I did apply all his teachings and I got band 7 score and that’s all I needed. If an unserious fellow like me can do it, you can do it even better

Never one to comment on KZfaq channels. I just want to say thank you Alex and jay. I received my result . got a 7 (which might seem low) as a native speaker. However, I had just 2 weeks to prepare and I am so happy with my score. I watched all your KZfaq videos to help understand how the test work and help with practice. No regrets but I should have listened to jay and focused on the part 2 writing as I wasn't able to finish it in time.

@@shivanisharma2572 okay for reading I have a few personal tips, 1. understand author and agree with him, in T/F/Yes/No questions, you need to understand what the author is talking about very carefully. You can't mix your own interpretations or anything else given in the passage, you have to accept whatever the author is trying to convey. 2. Read all the questions in a section before attempting to answer a singular one. Sometimes you'll find that the answer to a question is available in other questions. You can get a better overall conclusion of the passage by just skimming and noting the tones of the questions. 3. This is a given, but try reading the passage very carefully before answering any questions. also jump back to refer the passages whenever you have a doubt. Overall I'd say reading is pretty straightforward apart from the yes/no questions. just practice some papers and you'll feel confident.

Hi Jay, thanks for all you do. I wrote my test (general) in Freetown, Sierra Leone on March 21st but only got my results back this week due to the COVID 19 pandemic and a few issues with my script which meant it had to be sent to the UK for marking. @@muriamsarfraz3473 I didn't take any mock tests, also didn't actually practice anything. All I did for my 'preparation' was watching E2 IELTS KZfaq videos. I watched almost 90% of the content in this channel. May be, If I had practiced or taken a mock test, I'd have gotten a better score. I'm happy with 7.5, it's more than enough.

Thank you Jay. Your reading strategies helped me to grab a score of 7.5 in academic reading with an overall band score of 7.5 all in just 7 days. @@snehalpandhare3312 it's all about practice. The more you practice the more you get. Make sure you understand why you make mistakes at the end of each practice and try avoiding the same kind of mistake with the next practice.

Redid my IELTS and finally received my results yesterday: Listening: 9.0 Reading: 8.5 Speaking: 7.0 Writing: 7.0 Watched all your videos just one week before the retest and I couldn't believe it !! My writing score went up from a 6 to a 7 and I cannot thank Jay and Alex enough. The best channel :)

@@manpreetsingh-jp3wc I didn't, basically just try to watch as many videos as possible to learn what exactly IELTS want. For writing, learn the structure for each type of question (Jay and Alex has done many videos on them). Learn vocabulary that you could potentially use to boost your grade. For reading, you should always read the question or the first paragraph first (depending on the type of question). Never waste your time reading the entire passage because by the time you finish reading it and get to the first question, you would have forgotten everything you've read in the first few paragraphs. Listening and speaking is all about practice, but if you are fluent in English, just know the structure of the exam. You can look up some 2020 speaking questions, if you want to fully prepare yourself. Best of luck !!

Amrit Randhawa reading is kinda hard when you compare it to other tasks as it requires a bit of luck as well. Sometimes the answer is right in front of you but you can’t find it. Anyways first tip I would give you is to practice , as much as you can, I left the reading part for the last 2 days and later realized that it was not as easy I thought it would be. You have to be time efficient and be able to read paragraphs quickly, skip and find key words and also understand while reading. So ya main tip is to practice by keeping a 60 min timer , printing out paragraphs from google and by taking full 60 min tests. It will help you to manage your time. You should be able to complete task 1 in 10-15 min, task 2 in 15-20 and spend most of your time in task 3 as it is the hardest. Second tip is to not panic. You won’t find all the answers and it is quite natural, so skip the qn and go for the next as you won’t have time to waste. And never leave any qns blank, there is no negative marking so try to attempt all the qns, I had to guess some answers in my exam too. And I guess ya that’s it, I wish you the best of luck

It's not D as it says devised which means that it is invented or created by some method to solve that problem. You can read the 1st two sentences of second paragraph it has been given that many scientists tried their best to find a solution but there's no information on that. The scientists have not discovered a solution yet so the ans is E.

Heyy J. When I go through the reading paragraphs they don't have the answers which goes from top to bottom!!! Example - 1st question answer can be in the 5th paragraph and the 2nd question answer is on the 1st paragraph!

For this type of question, do we need to read whole paragraph or only last sentences, as it says match the endings? I’m in confusion

Snehal Pandhare 👨🏻‍🏫 Hello, Snehal. Mr Teacher here in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. For this type of question you MUST read the whole text. Then read each paragraph separately to follow the sequence of questions. The endings are in the question, not the text.

For the konigsberg bridge paragraph, the answer for "A number of experts" is "D" (who tried their best to find a solution, paragraph says), not "E" (paragraph did nt say they are failed it says its difficult)

The paragraph said, 'scientists tried their best to find a solution', but did not mention that those experts 'devised several methods to solve the problem'. However, in the next line Leonhard Eular proved it's impossible, that means previous experts failed to solve it. 'E' is correct answer

@@tanhachowdhury3593 could you please clarify more. 'scientists tried their best to find a solution' means scientists had many methods to find a solution i.e., they research for the solution. Unfortunately it was not success. So we can take D as an answer?

@@SAFEENASULTANAMohammad The paragraph didn't mention that scientists "devised several methods" to cross the same bridge once (it might be one method). But it has proved that this task is actually impossible. So, "E" is clearer than "D".
