Guys, I listen to the question and pause and answer myself. Then I compare my answer with the candidate's. It really helps me understand if I am speaking well or not enough. You can use this tip if you haven't tried it yet. Good luck!

Hi, I just wanted to add my small intake on this channel. It really helped me to prepare my speaking test (where I scored 8.0 and 8.0 overall). I started by watching the lowest band score to the highest one, which really gave me a comparison between 7.0, 7.5,... and 9.0. Then, as a French (with a strong accent), I watched THIS video in particular in order to hear how a French and a native would pronounce words differently. I am not sure why I lost the last point but it might be due to the lack of time to reply all the questions in Part 2 (but I believe it is better to speak more than less). One tips for test takers on D-Day: Be natural, all is well.

Sarban the pronunciation I guess. Everything was all right, she had a highfalutin way of speaking, many good linkers, and she was rather quick with her answers.

@@sarban1653 yes. I just suppose that this is what people did not like in her speaking. On the other hand, some words were not pronounced very correctly too. Rarely did she make any mistakes and if she did she made sure to correct herself at the drop of a hat.

they're not required to do any of that. in fact, in an actual ielts speaking test, the examiner is likely to have been working all day, asking people question after question. they're probably gonna be really tired. so whether you like it or not, you just have to deal with it, and remind yourself not to be discouraged by their expressions

I have been watching your video since last march and i am getting plethora of knowledgeable things from you. However, she speaks perfectly like a native speaker. She used some wonderful vocabulary which is helped her to get a good score in her exam. I have been taking my preparation for IELTS exam. Everyday I'm giving some test but unfortunately i can not improve my reading score which are belong to from 19 to 24 and last night i answerd 27 question and which was my highest. Moreover, i learnt few things from this remarkable video and hopefully i can also improve my grammatical mistakes within someday.

My speaking test was yesterday so the questions that were asked are: Part1: Where do you live? Will you live there in the future? What do you like about your country? What don’t you like about your country? Do your friends live far? Do you have some childhood friends? Part2: Interesting conversation With whom? When and where? What was the conversation about? Why the conversation was interesting Part3: Presentations How they should be done? Is visual part more important than oral part of presentations? Should presentations be funny ? Why? On which occasions presentations should be serious? ____Speech In which situation we should give speech to public? How to be affective when speaking? Confidence and being charismatic: are these skills learned or done naturally? In case you need some practice. Good luck to everyone! Just be confident :)

Dear Adrian, I’d really like to know that, apparently I speak English way much faster than the woman in the video. ( almost as fast as an average american). I often tend to combine shorter sentences using coordination rather than creating really long sentences without any conjunctions. As I see that the woman in the video did very well in the exam, I’m kinda worried about this. Should I speak a bit slower by thinking how I could extend my sentences creatively, or is it ok saying not much “erm...” and keeping on combining my shorter sentences together? I’ll really appreciate your help, thanks in advance. 😊

You should focus to answer the questions specifically. The content of your answers is very important when you are aiming for higher bands. It is not important to speak very fast.

I think her fluency is not as same as natives' but she spoke in a various way by using gerund, a few idioms and so on. Also she seems really calm. But sometimes I guess it is not a fair test because some examiners are not positive of some foreigners.
