UPDATE: For Kazuya, since I couldn't really find any other character that used the Mishima fighting style and the Devil Gene. I went with Jin (was hesitant to pick him at first). Similarites: -Use forms of Karate -Inherited the Devil Gene -Jin played Kazuya's role in Tekken 3 Differences: -Side B replaced with Demons Spear. -Powerful, less escapable 5 punch combo -Jin will use low poly Tekken 3 model (as tribute and to better match Kazuyas moves) As for Sora, he was easier, Roxas. Similarites: -Users of Keyblade and magic -Floaty and combo attacks -Roxas is Sora's Nobody Differences: -Faster attacks with duel keyblades -Elemental attacks replaced with variations of light magic and beams of light -Final Smash uses Roxas' Limit Break Magic Hour

Here are some of my ideas that weren't featured in this video Luigi: Mr. L (I admittedly came up with this long before Gooigi ever existed) Capt. Falcon: Black Shadow (gives Ganon another reason to have a unique moveset) Sheik: Impa (This was honestly what I thought your pick was before you revealed it) Ice Climbers: Plusle & Minun (from the Pokémon games, inspired by a popular Brawl theory) Pichu: Ukulele Pichu (The Pokémon Ranger series is represented practically nowhere in Smash) Mewtwo: Shadow Mewtwo (Pokkén Tournament- think Mewtwo but if it was a shoto) Bowser Jr, more specifically the Koopalings: The Broodals (from Mario Oddesey) Rosalina: The Cosmic Witch (shows up after dying 5+ times in the same level in Mario Galaxy 2) Petey Piranha: Dino Piranha (This one's a bit different because Petey is only part of a Final Smash in Ultimate) Cuphead Mii Costume: Mugman (Miis don't have their own version of Echo Fighters) Steve: Herobrine (Minecraft in Smash already broke the Internet once, let's do it again)

Ok, seriously. What the heck happened? Where'd you all come from? After nearly a year of being stuck with less then 100 views, how'd this video suddenly take off to 7000+ in a few days? Whatever that reason may be, thank you all. It warms my heart to see so many people watching, and talking about my video. As well as seeing all the ideas for Echo Fighters you all came up with! You folks are fantastic!

Here are some interesting ideas I have that I haven't heard elsewhere. Nintendo Labo is the most unique echo I have heard for my main Game & Watch(Ms Game&Watch is not canon) though my idea was Stanley from other of the Game and Watch titles like Donkey Kong 3 and Greenhouse, you could also pull from any of Game & Watch's attacks and have them as the whole moveset but Stanley feels like the most iconic and would be more expressive. I had thought of a strange one for Rosalina. Princess Shroob. Compared to Peach, Shroob would work better with the energy style attacks Rosalina has and the Luma could be a Shroob which would be Groundbound. Ridley had a lot of variations. The Original design on the NES Manual looks so different from what Ridley is now that I think it'd be really awesome to see.

Think another echo fighter that could’ve worked perfectly for Sonic is Blaze, given how she’s basically just a Sonic from a different dimension, and use fire instead of wind. Wouldn’t need to change much of Blaze’s moveset, just a faster homing attack (one similar to what she does in 06) make the side B a boost, make the up B her double jump from 06, and the down B being her Sonic Rush Spindash. Her final smash would obviously be Burning Blaze which would just be a Super Sonic swap (or they may do something different). Shadow although sometimes playing exactly like Sonic, deserves to be his own character since he does have a lot of differences. Metal Sonic shouldn’t be considered an echo since he has a bunch of moves that Sonic doesn’t have and also deserves to be his own character.

For Pyra and Mythra, I'd say going with Poppi makes a lot more sense than what you picked, primarily due to Poppi having multiple forms in-canon, *and* basically being an artificial Aegis in her third form (QTπ). Basically, she'd be able to swap between her α and QT forms in much the same way as Pyra and Mythra, however these forms combined have a weaker moveset overall than the Aegis Twins. However, similar to Joker, Poppi would have a meter that builds up over time or when taking/dealing damage, which lets her use QTπ form in place of QT form, and powers up α form's attacks as well. This is a nod to how QTπ is quite literally the strongest blade available to the player stats-wise, even if she isn't in canon, and how the Ch7 spoiler you picked as your echo is also a timed super mode in battle.

I think you missed the point of what an Echo is. It's just model swapping character with the least amount of changes which result in less dev time. Changing skeletal size and changing several moves literally goes against that principle since that basically makes them a new character and also that requires lots of work. And to clarify changing damage outputs, speed or effects doesn't require much effort, I'm talking about actual animation. -Birdo doesn't have a tongue, it would be hard to pull of Birdo as an echo since you'd be redesigning half of Yoshi's moves. -Wiggliyuff couldn't work as it wouldn't be able to share the same character skeleton and height as Jigglypuff. Animations couldn't just be swapped easily and at that point you'd have a lot of work be put into it rather making an actual echo. -At this point the Baby bros couldn't work, already the Climbers are higher than the babies, but lets ignore that since canon height not always matters. But your idea of changing specials would literally make them brand new characters. -Gardevoir makes no sense. Again, they don't share the same build, as an actual echo Mewtwo's movements can't translate to Gardevoir. Not to mention it has additions of having more appendages moving like a skirt/dress. -Again 9 Volt doesn't share the same Skelton build as Wario and none of his moves can match which means you'd have to completely remake him to work. -I theory Black Knight could work, the problem is Ike has lots of agile acrobatic moves which Black Knight couldn't do. So either you make something look bad or you make a brand new character which an echo isn't. -Your idea for Rival again can't work since you'd be designing 3 brand new characters, that's not an echo. -Toy Con Robot does not share the same build as ROB -Lubba is the worst example yet. It has no similarities with Rosalina in terms of build. -Same as before, Accelgor shares no build similarities with Greninja

I think that Black Shadow would have been cool as a Falcon echo, where he is essentially Melee Ganon (strong slower Falcon, but none of the magic or sword) Captain Toad and Toadette were my idea for the icyies. Fire instead of tce for the sideB, and Turnips instead of ice chunks for the nutral B, and picks instead of hammers. The Final Smash would summon a Captain toad stage instead of an Iceburg, but would function the same (with klepto instead of a condor if needed) Gooigi could have a paint mechanic like inklings I think that Inteleon is a good pick for greninja's echo. Replace the multi-hit water shuriken with a single hit Snipe shot, and shadowsneak with inteleon turning invisible and then striking. Its final smash would be g-max ineleon on its snipe tower in the background and be similar to ZSS's final smash.

I love the video! I think in the future, you should try to mix the bgm lower, since it overpowers your voice sometimes.

Okay, I know I am a little late for this, But I honestly think Sumi Yoshizawa Could also work for Joker since one of Joker's alt is a reference to Akechi.

I honestly now kind of want Wigglytuff, Gardevoir, and Pokemon Rival added as characters now. (Also Shadow because I'm honestly surprised that he wasn't just added back in smash 4.)

I was thinking making Impa an echo for Shiek. More killing power, but slower and weaker combo game. Kinda similar to Mario and Dr. Mario

For Byleth, I think the Monster Hunter would be great. Spear can be replaced with the Lance or Insect Glaive, that big thing for the down air and other stuff could be the Hammer or Greatsword, Sword could be, well, the Sword and Shield, and the Bow could be the Bow, maybe with three weaker shots. For the little whip attacks, they could be a difference with those being varied throughout the move set (maybe some longsword or switch axe attacks). Final smash could be maybe something to do with wyvern riding from rise, and up B could be a wirebug that just shoots you up instead of a grapple.

For anyone wondering why Ms. Pac-Man was never used as an Echo fighter or hasn't been in any Pac-Man games recently it's quite a complicated debate you see Namco didn't make her she was made by a different set of people and they had an agreement signed with Namco for them to use her however in the 2010's some very complicated legal stuff happened and to sum it up Namco can no longer use the character but they have been trying to replace her with characters such as Pac-Girl and what-not if you want a more indepth video discussing the entire situation I recommend "The Disappearance of Ms. Pac-Man." by Jonii it's a very well made video that really helped to easily explain and understand the ongoing situation and what led to her being retired from the franchise as a whole.

Blaziken could work for captain falcon. I know it’s a little odd. But both have similar body types, use fire and fight up close and personal. Blaziken could be faster (not as fast as sonic but faster than falcon) and a tad weaker (still strong, with an f-smash around Mario’s strength) Black shadow could work as a substitute for Jody if you want a pick from F-zero since black shadow is muscular like falcon, but could be a bit slower (still in the top 15 for speed) but a bit stronger (an f-smash of similar strength like bowser or incineroar).

Echo fighters were weird in the sense that they gave them a name. We always had clones, but giving them a name and able to stack them made it seem like they should have given them to the whole cast

I personally am surprised that out of every character in ssbu two of the modt iconic (kirby and sonic) don’t have the main and iconic villains as characters eggman, metal sonic, shadow, knuckles, tails, and the dark matter family tree. Although I do think metal sonic would be a terrific echo fighter for sonic. But personally, I think gooey would be a better fit for kirbys echo fighter, cause he was made to be a second player for kirby and has a similar look/design to kirby.

Gardevoir would be unable to use any of Mewtwo's tail attacks which make up a majority of his moveset. So I don't think that's a great pick. Especially since the main reason for echoes are to include more characters without significantly increasing the development time. Having to rejig all of gardevoir's animations would be a lot more work, they would also need to do something about her being in the pokeball item. Same problem comes with making Blue have different pokemon. Blastoise isn't anything like Charizard or even squirtle and charmeleon can't do any of Charizards wing attacks meaning they'd have to make a bunch of new normals and smash attacks. The animations just wouldn't translate, at that point you'd just making a totally new character.

Glad to see someone else gave Mirror/Shadow Kirby the nod as a good Semi-Clone candidate for Kirby; considering the focus for Kirby's kit is more a "Greatest Hits album" with an occasional new bit like Ultra Sword, I can see Mirror Kirby having more of the older single-attack CA's in Amazing Mirror (plus Adventure & the Dark Matter Trilogy for coverage) with minor edits for stats & animations, though Gooey, Keeby & Batamon from DL3 would also be fun options

Technically, this came out a year before Three Hopes came out. if this video would be redone or have waited for another year, Byleth's Echo fighter (if for real) would be Shez. They are really similar in many ways, maybe you can set the difference in the fact that Shez is more glass cannon (has better attacking reach but easier to push away) and the final smash of course featuring Arval instead - however, Smash Ultimate already have got it's remaining fighters already. Not to mention pressure on the number of Fire Emblem characters in SSBU.

If anything, I’d say a fitting echo fighter for Joker would have to go to Violet (aka Sumire Yoshizawa). Violet takes heavy inspiration from Joker already and can both have similar moves, just have Violet’s be tweaked a bit to match her graceful style and the fact she uses a rapier to fight instead of a knife and she’s obviously be able to summon Cendrillion as her persona instead of Joker summoning Arsene. Plus both characters are meant to mirror each other in gameplay, story and design so it’s a pretty good choice.

For Byleth, I would say Nemesis fits best because they both use the same sword and you can definitely just give him the spear, axe, and bow since Nemesis commanded the original users of those weapons and since Byleth doesn't actually use them in game

im gonna talk about Hero for a bit. I appreciate that you used Erik from Dragon Quest 11, but I feel as though Hendrik could work better. he’s a sword user like Hero (Erik technically CAN use swords, but he typically is depicted with knives) and they do have some similarities with body type since they both have long hair. You did mention you didn’t play the Dragon Quest games so it’s completely fine lol, just thought id say my opinion. Great video btw!

I think Giygas fit Mewtwo a lot more than Gards, also Earthbound Beginnings needs a rep, the game is so underated. And for Pyra/Mythra I would want to their echoes be Lora/Haze from the game's DLC Torna the Golden Country. I just love the DLC and want it to be recognized from years to come.

For mario and docter mario I could see some echo possibilitys. Such as for mario he gets a version of himself that plays like a mix of his 3d mario versions as a 2d character such as having the galaxy spin jump as his neutral b that can stall in the air and reflect projectiles on both sides, a dive for his side b and a rocket nozzle for his up along with metal mario being the echo of docter mario.

Personally, I would’ve gone with Silver Sonic rather than Shadow. His only differences would be his charge attack and spindash jumping. Other than that during his fight he acts like an EXACT copy of Sonic

A different final smash for Undodog and the bird i already forgot the name of An eraser wipes the stage and starts sprinting across the enemy(ies) doing good damage. The Undodog Undo's the stage erasure and brings it back. However if the foe was above 90% Damage before the final smash started, undodog slams the stage into the opponent, practically OHKO'ing them.

I think it would be interesting to see if you can give each character three fitting echos, if you dig deeper that could work very well, especially if Bowser for example wasnt just midbus but also dry Bowser & Paper Bowser, I still honestly think it is a shame characters don't get updated move sets as optional playstyle variants (Think about how mortal combat Games recently have this) it could make for an amazing smash Bros fighting fan game or potentially future mod expanded content, though I would be tempted for each series as a Challange to have one echo be of a different series, adding one extra from another probably like a secret by putting in the konami code, my pic for inceneroars secret echo would be Meowser from 3DWorld, I think so long as half or a third of the moveset has differences, this route is interesting to think about.. plus can you imagine a secret kinghippo punch out K Rool echo.. yeah this would work soo well for smash spacifically because of how many actual variants you could make work per character, also id say in the case of alt skins, they are replaced if they deserve to be an echo, great video !

Ms. Pacman representing Midway fighting Pac-Man representing Namco would have actually been badass, and a real Sakurai achievement. But due to Bandi working on Smash, they were probably the first ones to turn down the idea. Namco doesn't seem too keen on Ms Copycat's existence, and for good reason. I just wish they'd find some way to call it out so people stop thinking Ms. Pacman is a Namco property that they're just ignoring it. To this day people think Pacman is married.

Couple notes, if anyone cares: -I think Shadow Kirby would work better without copy abilities. It'd make him more unique, I think. Instead, more of his moves utilize copy ability essences, and he has a Dedede-esque inhale. -Blaze would also work pretty good as a Sonic Echo, just with more fire moves. Mighty also has some potential, but that involves SEGA referencing Mighty for more than 10 seconds so it's unlikely. Shadow could work, as mentioned, but 0/10 if he doesn't have at least one gun (NAir like Joker's, maybe?). Espio could work I guess, but he'd be weird without the other Chaotix. Mecha or Metal Sonic could be fun, but would be a bit more work. If we're desperate, Classic Sonic works. Alternatively, Sash Lilac from Freedom Planet. a bit more work. If we're desperate, Classic Sonic works. Alternatively, Sash Lilac from Freedom Planet. -Mega Man has a few more options. I think Bass has good potential, and Roll is an actual clone of Mega Man in MvC. X, Zero, Vent/Aile, Volnutt, Megaman.exe, or Starforce, could work, but might be better with custom movesets. Rokko Chan would work, but is a fan work so is unlikely. Beck would work as well but nobody will admit it because it's Beck. -Duck Hunt, ROB, and Icies do not work for me, but I can't think anything better. I'd reference something else NES and niche, though. Balloon Fighter and NES Open Golfer fit somewhere in there. ROB could also reference Subspace Emissary. -Mii fighters could get Sportsmates as echoes because Nintendo hates us. -Link was skimmed over here, but there are some options for him. Main Link could get the Hero of Time, who hasn't been in Smash since Melee. He could also get Corona from Crusader of Centy, or Ravio. NES Link is a mod that goes over Young Link, and it looks real good so we'll just steal that. Alternatively, Fierce Deity Link is a pretty obvious pick (might be a stretch as an echo fighter).Toon Link often gets Tetra listed as an echo, and that works fine but she'd fit better as an echo for Sheik/Zelda, bringing back the swap mechanic from Melee. Instead, Toon Link could get the Hero of Legend, possibly based on the Link's awakening remake. -AoC Impa would be a good Sheik Echo on account of her being literally just Girl Naruto -Yuga would do nicely as a Ganondorf Echo, using his paintbrush instead of Doriyah. -This is gonna sound stupid but hear me out--Vibri from Vib-Ribbon as a Mr. G&W echo

I'd say that Aran Ryan would actually be a better pick for Little Mac, acting a as a heavier, and more ranged fighter with the flail and also having stronger air attacks with the headbutts and elbows he throws out. To counter this, his ground attacks would be much weaker and his speed would be reduced to around the ground speed of game and watch

Alvis is a good pick for a Shulk echo... but he doesn't exactly have a "replica" Monado, I think you got something mixed up there. Malos is another good choice.

I think Raichu could have been a good echo for Pikachu. I know Pichu is there and all, but it would be neat seeing all three evolutions of Pikachu in the game.

Paula should've been an echo of Lucas instead. In EarthBound, Paula can use PK Freeze, PK Fire, and PK Thunder, that matches Lucas perfectly.

Personally I would've liked to play Master/Crazy hand or some kind of variant. Just a complete smash original outside of Taboo and the Mii Fighters.

Personally I would've Gone with Ethan/Lyra for Red/Leaf's echo. Typhlosion and Charizard have the same stat spread(well I haven't checked about nowadays so maybe that changed) and the pokemon could be original enough to be acceptable while being close enough that they are still an echo. Plus Ethan/Lyra in a lot of ways are like an echo to Red in story, defeating team rocket beating the same gym leaders(although Ethan/Lyra also beat the Johto ones first) defeating the same league(in name anyway) and having an asshole rival. Plus I could imagine a sweet Mt. Silver map and great alternate costumes. Oh yeah also they have a canonical battle with each other(minus leaf).

Rock could also use a meter system for his supers rather than Terrys desperation method.

I feel like blaze should’ve been an echo fighter, she’s technically sonic but in the future / Alternate dimension (Blaze’s world as its called) She also has moves like spindash, but spinning like a top. Her neutral b could be flame purgation, a move where she moves and spins around hitting opponents, like meta knight but on fire. I would keep her down b, to make her more like sonic Her up b would be axel tornado, a fiery move to get her into the air, and goes about as high as sonics up b. She cant do aerial attacks, just a airdoge when doing it.

For Ike, I’d go with his fellow mercenary, Boyd. Boyd has a very similar build to Ike and a somewhat similar fighting style, although he uses axes instead of swords. Just stick the Urvan (Ike’s inherited axe) on him and he’d be a great Ike echo fighter.

I have to disagree with your choice of Banjo & Kazooie's Echo; Yooka & Laylee work far too differently to serve as proper Echoes. If anything, either Gruntilda & Cursed Kazooie from the canceled Grunty's Curse or Robo-Banjo from Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts would work better.

Raichu could have been an echo for Pikachu since they're in the evolution family. Not to mention Raichu doesn't damage itself like Pichu.

I don’t understand why you didn’t use Deoxys for Mewtwo. Switching a couple of the tail animations with its streching hands would fit pretty well and there both Legendary Psychic types and also just the fact that, their both considered as a DNA Pokémon.

I don't think The Villager would make a good echo fighter for Steve. Changing the gimmick from crafting to trading would make Villager a completely different character rather than an echo, let alone a semi-clone. If I had to choose an echo for Steve, my pick would be Jesse from Minecraft Story Mode. With better agility, and replace the Final Smash with the Formidi-Bomb.

instead of wigglytuff, i'd go for clefairy. Similar, yet use on metronome instead of sing for random effects, including nothing, sleep, damage flower, etc
