クリスタの広告が出てきて、いつも通りスキップしようと、待っている間のたった5秒間で、引き込まれてしまいました。私もクリスタで絵を描くので、その作業中何度も聴いています。素敵な曲に出会えて嬉しいです…！おそらく大切な人を失ってしまった女の子に、つい感謝移入して心を動かされます。

呼吸、大人、愛、藍…… 今までのMVにも出てくる言葉たちだけど、何度も聴くうちにすごく深い意味のある言葉に思えてきた

After some thought, first, wonderful and beautiful series! It's been a wonderful experience seeing each song release adding more to Nana's (and Lili's) story. The singing and tuning in both versions are amazing, with gorgeous MVs to go along with it and add to the storytelling overall! Anyway, here's my take on the series as a whole: It's about Nana, and their "promise" they made with Lili when they were young children (In the MV, Promise). Their promise they made together was to remain as children forever, to never grow up so they can stay together for the rest of their lives, to stay in a world where even the adults could not understand. That's what childhood is. In Promise's MV, it shows Lili leaving - she's moving away somewhere far away: Nana's MV shows Lili leaving in the clouds, a more imaginative and "daydream" way to see it, whereas Lili's MV shows her literally leaving on the train. So what does that symbolise...? My guess is, Nana's still a child at heart, daydreaming and holding onto their childish fantasies, but Lili is already going through reality, and thus is accepting what "real life" is like. In Reunion, it's discovered that it's been years since they last met. Nana still holds onto that promise they made years ago, hoping to reunite and talk about that summer, or that time (their childhood) they spent together. However, it's the "Reunion that will never come" because... Lili has grown up, she's no longer the "Lili" Nana remembers. While Nana wants to hold onto that dream, that promise they made together as children, Lili has already moved on. In Secret, it's shown that Lili has accepted adulthood, she accepts her marriage (which is an adult thing to do, not children), whereas Nana on the other hand rejects the idea (being the only one to actively try and stop it). Because they promised to stay children forever, right? To stay together, as one ("Let's become one secret!"). In both Reunion and Secret, it talks about "justice" in the lyrics too, the progression of "too tiring to think about justice" (so morals, things adults think about), whereas Secret's lyrics talk about how everyone's sense of justice is different. Nana is maturing and understand everyone sees the world differently... and that Nana's values on the world are different to Lili's. And here, in this MV, Lili is gone from the other half and is only shown as a memory because Lili now has completely forgotten about the promise they made together as children. Lili has become a grown adult and no longer clings to the childish promises and memories they once shared. "Was it because I was such a daydreamer that we couldn't stay together?" resonates that idea - they couldn't stay together because one grew up still lost in their thoughts and dreams, while the other had to face reality and go through hardships (represented with the marriage with the crowd watching, representing society and pressure). It also shows Nana realising it's time to move on, it's time for themselves to also grow up (with all the mentions of "I'll also forget about you") and starting to understand what the adults mean with what they say. Finally, the notes on the "comet". Originally I had thought the two in Promise wished to see the "whale" which had all the wishes and dreams in the world, it was a fantasy they dreamed up which really was an airship (seen in Reunion). However, of course that seemed disproved here. Instead, that night in Promise, they saw a comet together and that comet symbolised their "prayers and blessings" together - they wished to be the comet, meaning they wished to keep that promise they made together: but as you know, they couldn't "become that comet" (they couldn't achieve their dreams) and Nana "wishes to be that comet" since she wishes to be Lili's dreams once again. (Take that with a grain of salt) Anyway, that's my take on the whole thing! Harumaki Gohan's music focuses on the pure relationship between children and how they see the world in many colours compare to adults (seemingly a reoccuring theme in many works by Japanese producers, like PowapowaP, because their adult society is very streamlined). So I think it's more of a metaphorical piece on growing up and forgetting all the dreams you had as a child! Edit: With the release of the new album "Together". It's likely that the timeline of the story is; Promise > Secret > If you can become a comet > Reunion Signifying their promise together, their attempt to reunite together and keep their promise, yet ultimately it cannot happen as the two (or perhaps, Lili) are no longer the children they were before.
