Equal weight S&P 500 instead of the regular one is a good way to lose money in the next decade and miss all the crazy gains with Ai and robotics.Betting against the biggest ,most profitable companies in the world that invest the most in R&D is a lost cause. Why would you equal weight with Walgreen and Nvidia for example? Make no sense. One company is more quality that the other and will go up more.

Paul, what are you thought of the (FFLC) ETF ? This fund's expense is slightly higher than the RSP, but I did the back test portfolio, and this fund seems to have outperformed most of the ETFs out there, including the VOO, SPY, QQQ and even the RSP since its inception. Back in 2022, most ETFs suffered a setback of 10-28% or more, but this fund managed to keep its loss down to just 0.5%. Seemingly, this lesser-known ETF has all the benefits of the upside market and mitigates all the losses in the down market. Is there something I'm overlooking?

Interesting video. But, I kind of like SCHB for some of these reasons. It holds roughly the top 2500 US companies, small, medium, large etc...Its percentage of the magnificent 7 is less than the S&P 500 but it has all these small caps that can grow. I don't have to have multiple ETFs to have access to small and medium caps and it has a low expense rate. It even has a slightly higher dividend yield than the S&P 500. Probably not to be excited about but it hits on all the points Paul makes.

equal weight S&P has outperformed normal S&P by about 1.5% since the 70s. It had been outperforming by more until about 10 years ago. Going forward , RSP is a sector bet play IMO. It has a large overweight in utilities, REITs and cyclicals, and a big underweight in tech and communications.

Only time in history where we will have an increase in productivity thanks to AI and rate cuts other than 92/93. Very happy my long term accounts have been held up a handful of stocks while we work through this recession. Allows for some wonderful discounts on individual stocks while the “overall market” remains elevated. I monitor RSP for years as a quick glance at the breath of the market. RSP is only up 4% on the year compared to 16% for SPY. Wait until the rest begin to come out of this recession.

as you are larger channel with a more professional setup (rather an an individual) , when you put the invesco symbol in your thumbnail I had no way to be sure you didnt have some form of marketing deal with them for their ETF. Please can you confirm you dont in future videos?

⁠@@ZxRSKILLS Ok, what do you suggest to someone like me that’s already retired (age 67) living on SSI and a small pension? I’ve already invested almost all of my savings. Yes, I own small amounts of stock in the “Magnificent 7” as well as others but what returns that are coming in are not even close enough for me to live on. I try to buy one or two shares of something monthly and I have also invested what I can into ETFs but my portfolio never seems to grow due to volatility of market. I’ve been using the Long Term investor approach because I fear loosing it all if I did any Day Trading. I did Ok on Navida but I own only a single digit amount and now I’m priced out of it. My long term investment strategy will work great for my kids when I’m gone though. Should I be learn to be just Ok knowing my investments will be going to my kids or is there something else I can do?

@@EverythingMoney I should've clarified, its an educational channel on value investing, with the main basis being go buy the index, picking stocks is hard, but if you carry out a good process, you should do ok. You dont do that, you lose, your gambling with family money, shorting stocks, selling winners, announcing how you will beat the market but the plebs wont, you look like an ass hat, a lot, Ego is the enemy, go get some help, lost in a miasma of your own self importance, picking fights you cant win, the collateral damage will be sizable. Hope you find a solution.

S&P 500 index by design favours companies that perform better over longer periods of time. If that happens be mag-7, let it be so. It serves best to remember that TSLA was a recent addition due to its performance. As long as one invests in S&P index in the proportions decided by the index, you will just be fine. Trying to artificially equal weight companies without taking into their performance is nonsense.

Im starting to get confuse on how you teach investing. Dollar coat avg. but at the same time based on your thesis the economy is overpriced. So to me in my way of understanding is to invest at the same time not to invest because i need to be cautious. As you say the market is up and down.

In the last decade the nasdaq massively outperformed the SP500 and if you think in the next ones it will not continue to do it, you are not understanding or identifying the future trends.

Most miserable chart of any index fund I’ve seen. Just put in a major lower high. So you get to pay a crazy high fee to lose money on top of it.

QQQ is at its highest ever. If you buy this and it drops, you’ll be in deep crap. The goal is to buy low and sell high, not buy high and sell higher. It’s just too risky. The hardest part is to identify when is the right time to buy. Ever see a stock go up or down for no apparent reason? Well, it’s called insider trading. You and many others who have an audience may make a suggestion to buy QQQ simply because you own it.

You are soo wrong my friend . QQQ isnt at its highest ever this is short term thinking . Also the goal is long term buy and hold and reinvest all dividends for as long as you are in the market thats usually 20-30-40-50 years in some cases . For me its my whole life im never selling never getting out . No one has lost more money then those trying to time the market . My favorite ETF Index is SPY/QQQ and another good ETF is SCHD Please try to look super long term . QQQ/SPY and many other etfs aren't for buying and selling and trading they are buy and hold and reinvest for the long haul.
