2:20 the game is currently in the process of going through the blocks that will go move once the process is over. And it will not stop this process until it runs into a block that it cannot move, an empty block that something a block can move into, or run until it reaches a limit, you removed that limit. You would have to load chunks until you reach the world border and then it would combine two blocks like that slab trick. Blocks can’t be updated outside your render distance, this is why flying machines break unloaded.

ye, even with google knowledge ppl would know its impossible to effect infinite blocks bc simply cpus can only count to a set number 18446744073709551615 in the case of 64 bit programs and systems. furthermore its java, and theres decent reasons why many games dont use java to code. its slow compared to c++ even if its faster than other forms of code. thus making chaineffects like moving blocks via a piston take an embarrassing long time to update even when running on hella hardware.

I think the reason why the piston didn’t extend downwards is because, pistons are hard coded not to move bedrock blocks. Maybe try another modification to make pistons push bedrock.

what does hardcoded means? i always thought that if you make a code for bedrock to be moved by piston the "hardcode" doesnt accept that and just does not let the code happen, im also curious what makes the code get hardcoded

@@antijokecommenter5003if something is hardcoded, it means the code is deeply embedded into the program. Without any external tools that can probe the code that deep, the only way to change it is to rip apart other codes that are blocking it.

1:04 the reason why the piston didn't retract here is because of something called qc in a big nutshell it's basically when something is powered through 1 block air gap and it's commonly used with pistons. Hope I helped :)

It happens bcuz the devs did a lazy and made the piston reuse the door code so the piston thinks it's 2 high when it isn't.

I have a theory about this. If a piston is in a cage type thing, slime walls and floor but no ceiling (so you can activate the piston, I am not a redstone nerd) and a piston connected to to the slime blocks. When it is powered, it should move the slime, but the piston is connected to the slime, so if you continuously power the piston, it should make infinite an infinite transport machine.

Well I personally think when pistons were added to Minecraft the push limit of 12 blocks was put in to prevent lag issues because if you had thousands of blocks being pushed at once it could crash because it has to recode the position of each block really fast and the game cant handle that so they put that in as kind of a safety feature

Make pistons push 5 blocks forward instead of just 1 and combine that with what you did this episode. Then have a try shifting the entire world for 5 blocks in a particular direction instead of just 1.
