That's an A major in the home key of A minor. That whole progression is alternating between major and minor, making those 3rds stick out and giving it the energy

I'm caught between wanting to see Charles play and wanting to close my eyes and live in the wave of nostalgia that hit me with the opening chords. My brother used to practice this song over and over again way back in the 90s when we were teens.

Now correct me if I'm wrong - this method is like learning the fretboard twice? Once for the usual, going up the scale, lower to higher - and the other for reverse and fretting on the opposite end of the neck? That is absolutely crazy. Godspeed Charles!!
