I have CPTSD from Abuse and an anxiety disorder,mall forms of anxiety. I've been doing EFT with my therapist since last Summer and although I feel there is so much more to do and that I am not yet even halfway healed, there is a major shift and huge progress. Anxiety was more manageable this holiday season and latelymI've been able to stop emotional flashbacks from causing a raged panic attack. We've only scratched the surface, but I'm loving the progress. It's slow but consistent. It's at the pace that's right for my body. I also have a burnout, so we're addressing so many things that are linked together and rewiring those parts of my brain so I can feel good about myself. I have a session later on today too. EFT has definitely made a big difference already!

Hey that's awesome, good for you. Working with a therapist who also knows EFT is the way to go. People often want to know how long it takes, but it simply takes "as long as it takes". And, while it for some takes a lot longer, everyone can improve from where they're at, and that improvement is what keeps you motivated to keep moving forward. i`ve been doing eft 11 yrs, the stuf about problems not coming back, they always come back...but yea its helped me, and i`m also a much more organised person,it seems to be a side effect of eft for me.,i`m also less negative..... but as i said social anxiety always comes back for me...i suppose it was a real surprise to me, being able to get rid of it some of the time, i didnt even realise i had social anxiety until i did eft....but i hav`nt given up on conquering it. I just wish people wouldnt make wild claims about quick anxiety cures.......maybe 1 in a million has this happen

Amen. Quick release of social anxiety does happen, however. Certainly not one in a million in my experience, having worked with hundreds of socially anxious clients for almost a decade. Nowadays about 35% of the people resolve their long-standing social anxiety within 3 sessions of 90min each. For the other 65% however, it takes longer. 6, 9, sometimes even longer than this, though this is a smaller percentage. It simply takes as long as it takes, but each session the problem shrinks a bit more. When it "comes back" it actually doesn't 'come back'. Rather, something else is going on. Some of the most common things that are going on are that you're not in acceptance of your social anxiety, or you're not accepting yourself when it appears. Or you're dealing with the remnant of the problem (that you didn't address yet) or -and this is the most common reason people fail to beat their SA: You're still dealing with subconscious resistance (to change, to your outcome of social ease, to being free of SA completely). It requires persistence and tapping in the right way on the right targets. The basic approach (tap on the symptoms & focus on the feeling, follow the feeling back to an early memory, clear the memory) doesn't work well for social anxiety. It's usually a complex issue that has linked itself to your identity and many areas of your life. It requires in depth tapping. Hope this helps

Any progress with your social anxiety? Acceptance and letting feelings truly hurt you is another approach to consider. Just imagine yourself in a situation where someone humiliates you or you feel humiliated. Totally accept the hurt feelings...

Hi Sebastiaan, since English is not my first language, the pauses in between the statements are sometimes not long enough for me to process and repeat them. Have you gotten this type of feedback before?

Hi Gesine, yes heard it before. I get excited sometimes! ;-) It''s OK though, you can repeat them in your mind without saying them out loud and it'll still be alright. As long as you do the tapping and you understand what I'm saying you'll gain benefits. Tnx!

oh, god, he's not anxious at all, i have gone from severe social anxiety where i was afraid to leave the house to being comfortable with a lot of new things and i am not feeling terrified all the time anymore, also have gone from not knowing why i even wake up in the morning to really seeing a point again all thanks to eft. I am not there, yet, but now i am living. That's happened in an year with tapping on all my bad memories and every problem within me every single day. You have to be commited and there's going to be a huge change. I think that indeed by believing that eft doesn't work for you, stops it from doing so.
