www.deeranddeer... This full episode of Land of Whitetail explores the singular technique that, if mastered, will allow you to hunt whitetail deer virtually anywhere: concealment. Becoming invisible to deer, even if you're doing the spot-and-stalk approach, opens up all sorts of possibilities for your hunt.
The episode's featured hunt follows Land of Whitetail's Gordy Krahn to Mexico, where he spots and stalks Coues deer over vast distances. One of the keys to his hunt is staying off of the skyline, since the terrain is full of hills, valleys and mountains. He also plots every step he takes well in advance by glassing the terrain and gauging the wind.
But you don't have to be stalking deer over several miles to take advantage of the hunting tips in this episode. The crew also covers concealment techniques in the deer woods, where treestands are much more popular. The principle remains the same: use the terrain to your advantage to stay concealed.

GREAT VIDEO on "spot and stocking." This is one of the main techniques I use on both elk and mule deer. I also use natural hide hunting when necessary. The secret for any hunter is to find what hunting techniques work for you, and then become very good at them. The better you become with each technique, then the more game you'll bag. I always go into the field prepared to switch from one to the other technique in an instant. Nowadays, I make use of game carts for hauling camping gear into the field and game meat out. In really rough terrain, I still make use of backpacking game meat to the game cart, but the game cart sure makes a difference over the long haul! Improvise, adapt, and overcome!

It is really based off movement and scent. If you don’t move, they really don’t see that well.

Fortunately you didn't wound that buck. Imagine shooting a 5" group from the bench, and missing by feet from the prone at 180 yards. You give ethical, properly prepared hunters a bad name by taking such pathetically poor skills into the field for trophies.

I am tired of people saying “use common sense”. I’m mean you’re making videos to show people how to hunt. Just dumb.
