@@miket.1933 Nope. Most football clubs in the Bundesliga outsource their football teams as stock companys. But the 50+1 rule dictates, that atleast 50 percent of the shares plus one share need to be owned by the club itself, which is run by the members of the club. So the members of the original football club, which obviously are the fans, own more than half of the shares of the outsourced stock company.

As an ⚽️🏈 fan, happy that the US media covers it. An US Bank and many ⚽️ owners who also own an NFL team like the Bucs (Glazer Family) have this idea of a closed league like American Sports have it, but it does not work here in Europe and I doubt it will happen, the measurements UEFA would consider are to much. The main reason Reals owner Florentino Perez wants the league is because of the lack of money they made because of the pandemic. ⚽️ has a huge problem...

Real Madrid doesn't have a solitary owner. Like FC Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao, it's owned by its members, who number in the tens of thousands. Florentino Perez is the President of Real Madrid and he's in that position because he was voted in by the club's members. The interesting thing is that Perez is a billionaire in his own right, primarily due to his construction business, and has never accepted a salary in both of his tenures as Real Madrid's president.

@@Jshaw6614 It would destroy the domestic leagues because the big teams would prioritize the ESL. They would rest their best players every week in the league, and field their strongest team in the ESL. Many of the teams included aren't event the best, they're just the most popular and the richest clubs. It was a closed system, with no relegation or promotion (which is unheard of in football), where the members would receive an insane amount of money just to participate, no matter how well they did. It would result in the bigger teams just buying up every talent from every other club, making the gap between the best and the worst even bigger. You gotta remember fans don't view these clubs as merely businesses. but as an integral part of their lives and communities. Many of these clubs are almost two hundred years old, and with a lot of history. A dozen owners tried to destroy it all, just so they could pocket a little more money. Oh, and most of these owners are already despised. They're mostly foreigner billionaires or leaders of corrupt regimes with no ties to the club.

Dear Rich, I love your Show an Sundays, I watch it here from Germany every week during the NFL Season. NFL is a great show and really awesome to watch, but you can’t compare it in any way with European football. As a (ill call it soccer) Fan you don’t choose, your born in to the club you support. I would never change the support to my club, even if my club would move like a franchise to somewhere else. I would never support a new franchise years later if somebody would think my town would again fit a new franchise. Of course, money is a big deal in Soccer too, but maybe it is comparable with your love for your colleague. I know it’s a little bit hard to understand, but for 99,99% of all soccer clubs (and here I mean all of them staff, player, fans, community’s) , winning/competing is more important than money and the main reason why we support our club is the competition, winning, losing and you will maybe know by now the "love" for the sport itself. The head of this video say "if don’t think a super league could happen here" you already have 4 Super Leagues. There called NHL, NFL, NBA and MLB from our point of view. This is not and it will never be the way it works in European Soccer. Hope this message finds a way to you, you’re a great guy, would love to enlighten you with my explanation.

You have super leagues in the US. They are NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, MLS etc. Those are closed competitions and you have no relegation up or down. If you suck for years there are no consequences. The club plays in the same division no matter what. That is what the Super League wanted to remove from European football. That is messing with the core of sports for us here. That is the reason fans are so agitated. We want our clubs to have a chance at beating the big ones. If the big ones suck they lose out, are relegated and have to compete at a lower level.
@RomeDCarlo

There is one punishment, bad teams don’t have the opportunity to make additional playoff revenue and they also usually suffer poor attendance until they start winning again. The NBA is where a super league is most likely, for a number of reasons: (1) it is losing popularity at a rapid pace, while (2) losing money at a similar pace. (3) It is top heavy, with (4) fewer and fewer teams consolidating the best players into super teams. At some point, it will become clear that people have lost interest in the NBA, and when that happens, the Super League idea will start getting thrown around.

The take away from Rich's opinion is that cash is not king when it comes to sport in Europe. We've seen these con-men off in less than 2 days, collectively. Sports fans in the states have been conned into thinking that you should be thankful to the owners for providing you with a club. Our response it that they are your clubs and they should be showing you gratitude for your continued support, both financial and otherwise. Grow a set a sort it out Rich. The Knicks aren't Dolans they are yours. How long would they last if no-one showed up to watch their games? TV would shun them as no-one wants to watch games lacking in any atmosphere and the players of all teams would hate playing at MSG. 2 months of collective action, at most, and you will force him out and get your team back. Try it and see, can't make things any worse at this point.

What's the problem with the current NFL model? It works for me. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
@danellis6091
@danellis6091 3 жыл бұрын
But you have it in the USA already? The NBA, NFL and NBA clubs own the leagues, unlike in UEFA Champions League. The US model is what us European football (soccer) fans do not want. Even the English Premier League still has three relegation spaces each year and sits atop a wider 130 year league system.

Completely different, wise up! In soccer, (football in the rest of the world) the teams develop LOCAL talent. It would be like the NE Patriots have about 80% of their players born in NE and were developed through the farm system the NE Patriots would run in NE. Most people in Manchester United came from Manchester. Totally different than with North American sports.

Seems to me that The Premier League are mocking the whole American sports since all six of the clubs are now leaving the Super League. To them there is no sport without promotion and relegation. Such mentality..

Idk why u mention just the English teams like Madrid, Barca, juve are there aswell and eventually if English clubs quit it still might not be the end! It’s a good idea to have more high demand/ high quality games but not over their domestic league or champions league games, if they make this competition a summer thing instead of the stupid friendlies that would be pretty interesting! Champions league lost the interest in last few years for many supporters and this idea of super league came just because of how the UEFA and FIFA just didn’t do anything! And please let’s not forget how corrupt FIFA is!!!

I would welcome a super league in college football especially if it got rid of the NCAA. The dynamics for college and Europe are much different and I think it would work here and be detrimental in Europe.

The first thing I thought about when I heard this idea, was college football. Not real sure just what I would do if something like that happened in my favorite sport, college football. From your list, Oregon would be in the Super league, but, I'm just not sure how it would affect me. Personally. I'd hate it, but, would I watch it or not? Not real sure. The only time I really watched the College Football Playoff was when Oregon was involved. Would this really change things for the top teams? Would Alabama and Clemson keep facing every couple of years? Would I even care? I sure don't now.
