A quick work of advice: don't cut the cable ties with side cutters. The cut edge is razor sharp and will lay your hand open if you brush against it. If you don't have a regular ty-wrap type tensioner and cutter use a regular pair of pliers and twist it off. Grab the tail end with the pliers in line with the tail and the pliers against the head. Keep a tight grip and twist the tail piece a few turns and it will come off without the sharp edge.

Very nice, Nathan! A local Texas rancher has a similar grapple on his tractor. Once you get used to it, you will be able to pick an egg up with it. A couple of observations I had - the NAPA guy threaded the teflon tape on in the wrong direction - kind of suprised about that. Also not sure if you watch ChuckE2009 but he uses the same background music on some of his videos. Your videos are some of the best on KZfaq.

nice addition there Nathan. it should cut down on your workload some. quick question, remember we talked about the possibility of using scrap walnut to smoke meat with...I was wondering if you might know if there is any amount of arsenic in walnut. I know some trees have some such as boysenberry trees. lookin forward to watchin more of your segments.
@chriscmoor
@chriscmoor 5 жыл бұрын
While possible, smoking meats with black walnut alone probably isn't a good idea. I've heard of people adding just a bit to the wood mixture, but, honestly, in all my years of barbequing and smoking cured meats, I've never met anyone who used any black walnut at all. Aside from the fact that the smoke from black walnut would be horribly bitter, black walnut contains one or more toxins (juglone among them) that can make the shavings fatally toxic to many animals most notably horses. Native Americans and early pioneers would use the green husks from the nuts to stun fish trapped in a weir constructed in a slow moving stream. As a kid, I remember walnut husks being dumped into a farm pond that had gotten infested with carp. The fish just floated up to the top and were scooped out by hand. Most of the ponds in the area were fed by slow seeps, so I guess the toxins just dissipated over time. I don't know that smoke from seasoned black walnut would contain any of these toxins, but I'm pretty sure the flavor it would impart would be pretty nasty. That said, if you've got the wood and some meat that you don't care that you might have to eventually throw away, give it a go. Let us know how it turns out.

Out of the Woods we gotta forgive the poor fool tho Nathan, he ain’t from around our neck of the woods so he doesn’t understand that we don’t need to be yelled at like his wife does to him to get a point across. We are grown ass men and can take a lot away from a nice quiet, calm conversation, lol

Did you cut so many pieces of wood you need a way to get your system on do a system unload it like the girls doing it April April's doing I'll send you a link she's got her s*** together and she's going to be passing you pretty soon when it comes to better off their equipment and having the knowledge of how to do this and make him money at it she got a nice setup and she just started

Greetings James, Pretty bold message you wrote, albeit very difficult to understand with the vernacular. April fabricated her mill with alot of suoort from Matt, so yeah we know. Please send us the link to your system as I am sure if a man would write such a bold message to another man, he must really have his s**** together when it comes to milling and processing logs. I am sure Nathan and the other sawyers whom watch and support his efforts are open minded and would enjoy being enlightened by your work. Peace and enjoy your Saturday

@@grupp61 you can't be sitting it up where he's not going to use it needs and he needs a a excavator look for for what he's doing that what do you call at the tractor he's got you don't want to pick up one little log in front of you and you will be able to have any Mobility with it it's just not the right set-up you need something he can place it at the logs push trailer text with bullet his log office trailer put it on to the Sawmill take the woods on for that and play some somewhere else he's going to set it up all cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs it's got to get more organized it's just got to lay out the land the way he wants it out there and make it stick to it but the way he's got it now it's just too much moving too much back and forth and he can leave pick up one little boy can't even after he cuts the stuff he has no way to haul it out of there so it's got to be able to release the boards on to something after he empties the trailer to put them back on to take him to some other location and I need to Pick-N-Pull kind of excavators the waiters at the moving from front to back I just needs to be more set up once he gets it up and it'll be it'll be easy to rip that stuff so quick and instead of having him talk for 20 minutes will be able to get to the sound done then you can do something different like we rest our relax and kick back instead of just talk and talk and talk and all they see is five boards cut at the end of this video big deal and some water put on them and he sells what you doing but prices on people can actually little bit on them or whatever he's got to do but advertising and they're not putting a price or marking them where they count number 5 and what number can make it simple Farm self how to make a alphabet order something so it when somebody wants a board they saw on the television and he can just going to pull it up easy he does it all backwards move it here move it there and we were here so I can put the song over and he can't get up there and it's ridiculous it's not setup right now he's working out of a shop it ain't even built yet and no light and I'm going to get it sounds like it's going to be basically disorganized for years until he fixes it removed it needs a bigger I guess what do you call it trying so he's well we probably won't get them if I have to move all of it up to wherever you're going to be close to where the wood is being cut that way after that is stack one more time to the person who buys it that way he doesn't have to relocate a 25 times it's been all this day just how many times he moves one piece of wood from the time he gives it to the cut the sausage is it to a puts it away and labels it going to have some kind of organization there's no one's going to be able to ever find what he needs they need and what they're looking for you can't display everything what the hell's going on out here bastards thieves

@@OutoftheWoods0623 Morning Nathan. April Wilkerson, and Matt is Matt Cremona. Both KZfaq creators. Matt designed and built a very large mill that works very well. He recently traveled to Texas to help April build one too. Both are very good KZfaq content developers in the maker space.
