I agree with you but I can also see the lack of skill to rebuild a trans, and if it’s never opened or damaged/broke the fluid will be good forever. Most guys can handle a remove an replace

You have to remove and partially disassemble that transmission to replace the filter.

I AM STILL TRYING TO FIND THE FILL PLUG ON THE 2012 2.4L 9 SPEED LIFETIME CLOSED TRANSMISSION WITH NO DIP STICK.. PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME FIND THIS #&*# DAMN FILL PLUG....

Lifetime fluid is good for the warranty period just the life of the warranty. I don't blame you J.T. not at all for being careful with that switch.

They dont require replacing all those orings on the tubes? Im only asking cause with us adopting the 9spd zf...im sure we will be doing this aswell

Customer had a BMW that wouldn't move due to low "lifetime fluid".. changed filter/redline fluid, been good ever since. Just got done with a Buick p0700 along with p2714 them solenoids/TEHCM got issues haha

Depending on the transmission. What kind of car and trans you speak of? Also are you subscribed to the channel?

So it was broken out of the box? You can't tell me things like this don't slip by at the assembly plant. Then come the recalls.

I guess it doesn't matter if a valve body is mounted horizontally or vertically. Always thought they had to lie flat.

Might be why the valves needed replaced maybe getting starved for fluid or hot

The valves are controlled with hydraulic pressure and springs. Gravity doesn’t matter, only in how they vent circuits.

Damn a bunch of haters man. I can bet you they aren’t creating videos out here. The struggle is real. If I was on flat rate again, I would not take the chance on that janky part either. I’ve moved into fleet service and they just want it to roll. I also get paid by the hour, so I would’ve moved the good used one over and tried it, maybe ohm them out to see if they’re the same or close. I do all I can to dispel the myth of the lube for life Transmission. No such thing.

I have this Trans in my 18 renegade I changed my fluid at 32000 and I'm going to do it again at 62000. I use Mobil one lv hp fluid in mine

There is a design flaw in the original manufacturing and they all have this problem.....in due time....

Lifetime to BMW is 100K. Lifetime to Chrysler? 50 K. Lol JK. But seriously do you have the procedure for the drain and fill? I have the little dipstick. But I’m not sure what the corresponding temperature is on the stick. Did you already do this and I missed it?

Volvo does the same thing everybody says it’s the life of the car when actuality it’s a life of the warranty I don’t care about you owning the vehicle outside of the warranty that’s not their problem I hate this way of thinking
