the glory was based on a true story fuhad, the real life victim had the courage to come out and talk about it. the series is based on 6 or 7 real life victims, one of the victims is japanese and he was the one who plotted his bullies murder for 10-ish yrs but his mom outed him to the police because he made the mistake of writing down the plan in his diary...

@@wamerteen780in korea schools really do nothing against bullying though. i am actively working as a teacher in korea rn & it's really upsetting. one of my students was being bullied & i took it to my boss & my boss was like "what did he do to make them treat him that way? he should avoid that behaviour moving forwards"... like just ZERO repercussions to the bullies in any fundamental way. i can stop it in my classroom, but that is one class every other day... it feels hopeless. he ended up moving schools because his bullies tormented him so much. when i again brought this up to my boss as a big issue he was like "it happens". so infuriating. & parents, generally, also don't care very much. there's a kind of "it was worse for me so why can't you withstand at least this much?" attitude in a lot of older people.

Itaewon Class was the one that cemented for me that I need to avoid Kdramas set in a school. I’ve heard & read enough to know that what we call bullying in America is absolutely NOTHING compared to the level Asian bullies get to.
