Great song and video! As far as I’m concerned, the show ended at the end of season 7 with the running hug! With the old Elizabeth. Season 8 never happened!

Thanks for putting together another great video, despite the challenge! I, too, am still struggling with it all and most of the time, I find myself simply making up my own final episode of season 8 and having things turn out the way they should have. Still don't know if I'll watch again or not. I love Kevin to death but don't know if I can stomach all the rest!

This was meant to be a wonderful and passionate story, a story of love, forgiveness and redemption for both of them, but the writers ruined it completely. I'm so sad we'll never see N and E overcoming their fears together, fighting as a married couple, laughing together and raising their beautiful kids. ❤

The truth is that Nathan made Elizabeth better (that is, before the disaster that was season 8). He challenged her, questioned her, listened to her, gave her space but did not fear confronting her. A weak man avoids conflict and confrontation but Nathan is not a weak man. He respected her and thought highly of her. He admired her tenacity, her grit, her devotion to Baby Jack and her dedication to her work both as a teacher and as a blossoming author. He fell in love with her, with all of her. She wasn't just a pretty face to him. She was a woman who also opened her heart (in seasons 6 and 7 that is) to him and invited him to take a chance, to open himself to the possibility of love and he did, he absolutely did. Many commentators have noted that Nathan is a quiet man. He may tend toward quietness, but not in the conventional and often stereotypical way. Nathan's quietness does not equal shyness. It does not equate to bashfulness. Nathan is a thoughtful man, who thinks through decisions, who isn't sloppy with his words. He means what he says and he says what he means. There is everything honorable and delightful about that. That is a man of integrity. Many were surprised to find that Nathan, a mountie, was a voracious reader, a man who could appreciate the eloquence of language? Why would they be surprised at that? Why would they (wrongly) assume that just because of Nathan's profession, he could not also be an intellectual of sorts? That kind of judgment is very short sighted. A man can be a man's man, a woodsman, a cowboy and still love the literary refinement found in a good book. That is Nathan. But Nathan did not feel the need to flaunt or publicize his interests to everyone, only to those who, bit by bit, began to grow in his heart. One of those people was Elizabeth. Nathan is a very perceptive and sensitive man, but he's also a man of action when it matters. He cares for people. He has worked to build good relationships with the folks in town, Bill, Ally and others. Nathan truly cares about people, but not in a "flashy and obvious way." A perceptive person can see the nuanced layers that make Nathan a man we absolutely adore, cherish and respect, all at once. To dismiss him as "just an introvert" who is "tongue tied" is a simplistic falsehood. Nathan is what we call a good man, in every sense of the word. It is unfortunate that Elizabeth turned away such a gem of a man and become unlikeable to many people in the process, in season 8. And because of that, she absolutely did not deserve Nathan in season 8. She treated him like her own personal plaything and that is never alright. Ever. If she knew that she wanted to pursue Lucas (and she did pursue Lucas in season 8), then she should have respectfully distanced herself from Nathan and not given him false hope with all of the longing looks at every street corner in season 8. It was unfair to Nathan who was nothing but honorable toward her. He was ready to fight for her and did fight for her, but she chose the obvious shiny prize instead. What a loss. What a waste.

I miss Jack and Elizabeth love story, and no one will ever replace Jack. Elizabeth should have chosen Nathan because Jack would want a man like Nathan to raise his son. Lucas is not the man for Elizabeth. Nathan is good man that adores, respects Elizabeth.
