Sorry for the delay, I thought a little about this over the last few days to try and think what would be helpful. Unfortunately its not easy to audition in this day and age without leaning on return policies or reselling on eBay and eating half the cost of whatever you didn't like. I think it will depend a bit on your room and listening style. The emotivas are really flat in my opinion and almost require a subwoofer. They produce good volumes but if you're looking for anything really loud they start to lose their composure and sound sloppy. Don't get me wrong they are 250$ speakers and they sound really good at that pricepoint. I haven't tried the larger kanto passive, but I can say I was really impressed with what they were able to do with a 4" in the case of the ones that I did try, the bass response especially was impressive. I also have experience with the Kanto YUMI which re a 5" powered speaker that I bought for my mom 5+ years ago those speakers are seriously good. Based on this experience, im willing to bet that the Kantos sound a little better than the emotivas The overall fit and finish of the Emotivas are going to be higher end than the kanto's, they have better binding posts, they include grilles, they are packaged better for shipping, the cabinets have a more appealing finish (IMO), the Kantos are a minimalist design through and through, but they perform well above their price point. I see a pair of open box yu 5.25 passive being sold by crutchfield on eBay right now for 152.99 which makes them around half the price of the emotivas, I would personally start there and maybe look to add one of their yu8 subwoofers in the future. Another channel that I follow "Andrew Robinson" really likes the YU Passive as well, I really respect his opinion.

@@improvedgarage Thanks for the reply. But I have already ordered the Emotiva B1+ yesterday night at 20% discount on regular price. Now after reading your experience I tried to cancel it but couldn't find the cancel option. Maybe I have to send it back once I get it and don't like it. I will try to connect it to something warm to get little more mid range sound from it. Would you please tell me which DAC/Amp you are pairing this B1+ if it is okay. I don't have big budget. So, trying to determine if something around 35 watt would be sufficient or need to go for more. This would be my first speaker system so I'm building everything from ground up. Much appreciated your reply.

@@muzammelhaquemukul7089 They are really good and have a return policy if you don’t like them. You’ll probably be happy with them, especially at 20% off. I was using them with a bluesound node and a Emotiva a100 amplifier which is 50x2

@@muzammelhaquemukul7089 if you’re running them off of a computer I recommend the schiit modi DAC. You’ll need to add an amplifier. The Cambridge axr100 gets really good reviews , and so does the Emotiva ta1. Both of those have a DAC and amp all together

The Kantos sound better in my opinion, the P3 are pretty bright and can be harsh at higher volumes, the Silk tweeters in the kanto do a much better job of reproducing the highs while being non fatiguing. Doing any sort of playback recording through a youtube video is ineffective, so i dont do it.
