I've seen you in the podcasts and just saw this video pop up in my feed. I bought a bottle last summer and have yet to try it out because I bought way too much Beadmaker and had quite a bit of Griot's spray wax still (which I am attempting to bust threw on the daily). The garage queen hardly gets out these days because of our economic state but the car usually sees Beadmaker. After the cure time I usually apply Paint Gloss but back in March when Matt came to town I threw down some Dream Maker. That stuff was unbelievably glossy as hell!

Thanks for the video. How is the protection? Is there any SiO2 in it? Thanks

yes there is a minor amount in it (like most other ceramic based detail sprays). The slickness is great and it easily lasts a week or better in my experience. Its not a replacement for a true ceramic coating or a sealant / hand wax, but its definitely great for maintenance washes in-between ceramic coating, and for temporary protection

A very fair review based on experience. Just subscribed as I appreciate the effort you are putting into your channel. Keep up the good work and ignore the keyboard warriors.

Never asked yourself why no other company has made a specific “drying aid”? Obsessed garage could make a chain linked steering wheel or bright pink panties and you would think they are awesome and find some reason why you need em. Slow down with the beta-ness and wanting to please your master so much. Sheesh 🤦‍♂️

Hey man, sorry you perceived me that way. There are actually quite a few OG products I dont like, and dont own. There are many products that OG doesn't sell that I stock from others (bug wash, rupes blue, interior cleaners, etc) There are a few places where I didnt take his recommendation and then didnt like the result and "bought it twice" (kobalt cabinets) As far as drying aid, lots of companies make them, sometimes they are called "detail sprays" or "spray wax", Chem guys makes a specific "drying aid" right here: bit.ly/3ydpCz8 so here's my experience, I have about a dozen products that could be used as drying aids, on the shelf right now, I've used them all and I like the OG drying aid the best. Is it the best that exists? IDK, I haven't tried them all. I can say its pretty good and lasts longer than beadmaker.

A little harsh but the one thing I can agree on with you is that these days drying aids are not really needed and pretty much obsolete as long as you practice proper drying methods along with a clean quality microfiber towel. If the goal is to have a dry scratch free surface then spraying additional liquids in which you have to apply extra contact isn’t something I would recommend.

@@peterjohnson8631 I like the additional slickness and I find it gives me a chance to inspect the car as I go over it with the drying aid. You can wash without one for sure and get a great result. I appreciate you taking the time to comment!

@@improvedgarage I saw somewhere you mentioned slickness about how it felt to the touch but slickness is how the paint feels which is another thing that doesn’t matter. Shouldn’t be touching the paint anyways, lol.

@@peterjohnson8631 I like the slickness because of the hydrophobic and non stick properties. It’s a ceramic based product so it’s similar to a lot of others like that. The “feeling” is a rudimentary way of measuring it.
