The 2022 US Open runs from August 23 - September 11 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. To me, the game at 0 - 3 in the second set, where there were five deuces and Iga managed to grit out the win, was the turning point. In the last couple months, Iga has faltered in matches like this, but she hung in there and took her game to another level to power her way to that second set win. This is what champions do, even when not playing their best, and it's been missing from Iga's game lately. Hoping she gets a lot of confidence from this win.

Just one point. Cornet did it too in her first match against Raducanu when she hit a drop shot and went to the net. Players do worse things on court but no one cares.

Great performance from Swiatek but the unforced error count is a bit concerning. Higher ranked players won’t give her so much breathing space

@@brunonkowalski Can you explain me why? I like Iga but honestly, I can't think of any decent reason that explains why that move was necessary. It seems to me that it was just to distract her opponent, but come on, she is way better than that. I don't think it would be fine to win a point on a GS like this. Unsportsmanlike behaviour

From a #1 player as Iga is to be going to the net & throwing up her arms to distract Davies is a unhanded move by Iga! Frankly it was shocking move by Iga’s shameful movement by a #1 player! If this is what Iga thinks she needs to do to win against her opponent’s then maybe Iga needs to rethink what sport she needs to be playing! I personally have never care for Iga & this justifies my reason! Iga will do underhanded things to win against her opponents! Shameful! Iga won’t be #1 long!

@@stef2330 Personally, I'd like to see a point taken away(or at least a warning) every time one of them stands shaking a fist and gloating at the net after winning a point- that sort of behavior was unheard of in the Laver/Rosewall/ Court era.
