@@maheersolanki I got a whole 12 marker about having to use the appendix from the casestudy, and solve equations for break-even. I also got an 8 marker on the 4 uses of profit. Those were the only ones i struggled with. The rest of the paper was fine.

Good question, it's advised that you don't repeat earlier points in your final evaluation.

Many thanks for your question. You can find the IGCSE paper 2 survival guide here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rt9oi7h2ubqdeac.html Usually the mark scheme will include nearly all of the acceptable answers. For evaluation questions (12 marks on paper 2) you can make your own decision on which option is best, as long as you make a reasoned recommendation in the context of the business. You can find lots more examples at caiebusiness.com

In your recommendation aim to make a judgement (evaluation), this is different from the points in the main body of your answer, which will be focused on knowledge, application and analysis. Check out my videos on evaluation for further details.

Heyy... I just watched your vid and yesterday I had my business studies p2... I'm stressed because I didn't have time to finished it... I had difficulties to finish the last question b... I didn't have time to write one explanation and jump onto the recommendation.. In the recommendation I wrote about the for (for the explanation I left blank) and 2 against for the, other 2 options I rejected... I'm not sure if I'll get marks because of this... Can you clarify me on how much marks I'll lose on this question please

You must apply your answer to the case study in all 12 mark question to access higher levels.

It may depend on the question. For 12 mark questions I'd include one advantage and disadvantage so you have time and space to analyse and apply.

Hi there, sorry for the late reply. In the 2020 specification mark schemes there are no longer 2 "application" points awarded just for application. Now to access the top marks your answer has to be in context throughout. So I would encourage students to use application for every point/paragraph that you make. Paper 2 is level based rather than awarding one point for Kn, 2 for Ap etc. Therefore, to reach the top level you need to analyse and evaluate in context - by applying to the case study.

Good question! You won't have any marks taken away for spelling or grammar unless the examiner can't understand what you are trying to say.

You can, but remember your focus in the recommendation is scoring evaluation marks so make sure you show judgment in context.

Helping a student out. I mainly teach additional math IGCSE, so I'm not very familiar with the grading system in Business Studies. Say a student is running out of time and written the important points/answers in bullet form, will their response be graded/evaluated? Or would be ignored altogether? Would love to get some clarification, thanks.

Yes, there certainly is a lot to get through! Look for places where you can pick up time, some of the (A) answers are more like short answer questions so you can do these more quickly.
