Imagine this player, great shooter, but he can't play defense, like worst than a cone. Not athletic, cannot jump cannot dunk not fancy, cannot crossover, cannot lock down nobody. And he's black? You think he can make it to NBA? He won't even be on Dukes third team for sure. But if you white you'll be JJ. Have a mile now and make fun of all the legends

I had a friend that used to work for the Warriors and he would occasionally get me tix to the games. After the game was over the only fans that were allowed to stay were friends and family of said players. I believe you needed to be on a list and have a pass to show security. It was a cool moment because most players were chilled afterwards and you could get a pic/autograph. Obviously this was done after the players would interact with friends & family and just before they went back to the locker room. The Orlando Magic were in town and JJ was in his rookie year. Since I didn’t know any players personally, my buddy put me on JJ’s friends & family list. I thought I would get in trouble but he said to me “you could pass for his brother (not because we look alike, but because we’re both white). Besides no one (security) is going to check with him to see if he knows you.” Sure enough I was able to stay afterwards and met some players not named JJ Redick. Thank you, JJ!

People questioned if Larry Bird/Jerry West can play in the modern era. If JJ Redick can last this long in the NBA, Larry Bird/Jerry West would have no problem dominating the modern NBA.

@@wrasslin4552 if larry bird was averaring 26 in the 80s - which has an ever-so-slightly higher average pace than today - along with triple-doubles in the playoffs, there's no debating that he'd dominate today. and maybe it'd be good to have someone in his ear telling him not to shovel driveways LOL

@@Diamante777 Larry played way different. Yes, he had a mid post, but so did everyone else. He did offball action, cuts, and a lot of running for fastbreaks - both passing and on the receiving end. He's close to Middleton than to Luka in terms of play style

Imagine if these weren’t basketball players. Imagine this was a conversation with two white men and one black man. These three were let’s say, physicist. And the white physicists told the black physicist he was the superhuman of his people? This is a thought experiment.

They always ignore this! Blacks act as if white people walked in the heart of the Senegal and snatched them up in broad daylight with their women and kids forced to watch. They got sold by their own “brothas” and “sistas” to the “devil white man.”

White players -- I think Bill Walton at his peak was a top ten player. His peak didn't last long enough to put him next to Kareem or Akeem or Wilt or Bill (who I think is underrated.) Bobby Jones was a top ten strong forward, maybe top 15. Bobby played defense capital D. Steve Nach and John Stockton were top 10 point guards. The Joker is a top 5 center, maybe top ten. We'll see how his career goes. Another top ten Center -- Arvydas Sabonis! I mean it! Before his injury he was truly awesome. That is, before his NBA career. I liked Chris Mullin. Top 20 small forward? Jerry Sloan -- top ten defensive guard? I think so. Peja -- top 20 3-point shooter? Dirk -- top 10 strong forward. Close to top 5. JJ -- top 20 3 point shooter easy. The only thing I like about GOAT discussions is positional GOATs. Makes you think down the list and there were so many great players. One of my favorite players who I think changed the game was Earl Monroe -- not white but he never gets talked about. He's the first guy I remember who would do a full-speed 360 while dribbling. Pat Riley impressed me with his toughness and focus. In that regard a top ten player. He wasn't even a starter but the dude was Intense. Top 10 guard -- Pete Maravich.
