I'm over 65, and have been following Iggy since high school. He taught the punks how it's done. Gigantic influence on music, and performance; he's set the standard GLOBALLY. Truly unique individual, so much tenacity and so much creativity. 2023, just released a new album!!

@goodtohaveinajam8148 I'm from Detroit (blow the reveille)! *Me Too!* (followed him since *JR.* high school) (over 65) Are you from Michigan? Remember the '60s? When you could say you dug *The Amboy Dukes* & *The MC5!* But, you had to be a little more discreet about liking that _'Iggy Stooge'_ creature. The new album! *'Every Loser'* Tell the world! It's GREAT that you & I have had the privilege of following this guy's AMAZING career! *IGGY POP is a GIFTED ARTIST!* Peace. Stay Healthy! *ROX ON!* - Dave B.

Shame the house band didn't play a few bars of I wanna be your dog or any thing from the first two albums , That would have brought a smile to his face . No one like him in Rock n Roll & the Stooges were Hard Rock as there was no real Punk then. A survivor & both a funny & smart man .

Skip to 5:34 Iggy Pop talks about David Bowie and Kurt Cobain.

At 7:05, what's the "one song" on Bleach (Louis Louis + the Beatles) that he's talking about? Is it "About a Girl?"
@paolacelletti20568 күн бұрын
Yes, it is "About a Girl".
@paolacelletti20568 күн бұрын
"Frequently described as one of Cobain's strongest and most melodic early compositions, "About a Girl" was written about his then-girlfriend Tracy Marander. In the 1998 documentary Kurt and Courtney, Marander revealed that Cobain had never told her the song was about her, and that she found out only after reading the 1993 Nirvana biography Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana by Michael Azerrad." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/About_a_Girl_(Nirvana_song)#
R-E-A-L. Thats Iggy. I guess he did bring performance art to the 60's stage. Get the vibe he's from the Viking era.

Sorry but if I ever had the chance to talk to Iggy, asking him about Kurt Cobain would be the last thing I'd ask. Kimmel should actually do research before an interview instead of asking stupid questions like that.

6:35 It's not right to laugh at other people's misfortunes. Sometimes the audience seems a nasty sort of puppet show.
