Comes in a clam-shell box with a 48-page booklet and detailed notes by Iggy Pop biographer, Paul Trynka.
When the riotous, confrontational 'last ever' Iggy & the Stooges gig Metallic KO was issued in 1976 on the French indie Skydog label, it heralded the punk movement and cemented Iggy's position in it. Iggy’s career then took off, and a 40+ year relationship between Skydog and Iggy Pop commenced.
Here are all the Skydog label's Iggy releases, remastered, in one clam-shell box set in seven CDs and a DVD; a fitting tribute to the label’s punk pioneer boss Marc Zermati, who passed away in June. Marc started Skydog in 1973, Europe’s first independent rock label, and in the same year that Metallic KO was released he organised the ‘First Punk Festival’ in Mont de Marsan. He worked closely with The Clash, Johnny Thunders, Wilko Johnson and Chrissie Hynde amongst many others.
Alongside Metallic KO the box includes the two Metallic KO source tape gigs, pitch-corrected after a tape speed fault was discovered; two collections of live and studio rare songs; unusual Iggy acoustic shows on DVD; a studio acoustic CD and the Stooges long-awaited 2003 live reunion in Tokyo. The 48-page booklet has notes by Paul Trynka, the Iggy Pop ‘Open Up and Bleed’ biographer and former Mojo editor, and rare and unseen photos.

I wonder if Dylan ever met Thunders, or maybe he was interested in him since the NY Dolls or the Heartbreakers period. He did say something about Johnny's highschool band though, but you couldn't make out if he knew them. Or maybe he just loved the guy and his music + his great style of clothing, hairdo, etc. Thunders always did this short acoustic version of Like A Rolling Stone from Dylan whenever he did his acoustic thing on stage, maybe he knew about that? Who knows..

;-)such a C;lassic n powerful version off Metallic KO. I'd listen to side #1 before high school my senior year n first 2 years in college. It was my musically fix n manta. My Momma (:She was coolest:) made me breakfast n I listen while I said grace n ate, each morning n every day back than. It literally was my diet n gave me the pep I needed for the day ahead. ~ Gimme Danger, no matter whatever happens - Iggy Pop👏Love the Bassline from Ron Asheton (RIP), he was GGGreat musician. One can hear n feel that throbbing heartbeat 🤟from Ronnie in this master performance n recording.

Of course not! He very rarely plays guitar, and sadly those shows weren't filmed. The video clips are from the DVD 'Acoustics KO', which is included in the new 'From KO to Chaos' box set.
