Pre-combat update SWG is one of my favorite gaming memories. The insane secrecy, difficulty and grind around the Jedi path was one of the greatest thing in online gaming history IMO.

Exactly. Most likely going to be as open world as Jedi Survivor was with hub locations to explore. Honestly it is unacceptable there hasn't been a Star Wars title released since SWTOR that has character creation and true role playing mechanics.

Follow the example set by rockstar and RDR2. It had an absolutely fantastic storyline that encouraged you to develop and explore with the character. A solid storyline will build the world around it and make you want to progress your character.

Great way to ensure no great story happens in the game. Silent protagonist is the death to any story with stakes. No great cut scenes, no great character relationships, but hey you get to look the way you want that's cool!

the references to Rogue One approach to scale and other unmistakably 'star wars' cinematic approaches gives much hope. on the other hand, the space flight looks to be so simplistic it might not have enough depth to actually integrate into a vision of seamlessness they are hoping for. actually curious how their design choices fare!

This game looks incredible! There seems to be something special about this particular team of artists. They just get it. They understand the detail, passion, and love that need to go into creating such a dream of a game. The fact that they have so much reverence for the spirit of the original films and have the steadfast drive to be truthful to it while simultaneously approaching this new creation with a spirit of is an indication of artists that care deeply about what they are doing (the result of which will be wonderful, spectacular and fun as long as they stay true and see it through to the end, and as long as they put their focus on the thing they're creating and its true vision)!

this was close to "my dream open galaxy" star wars game had it only had character creation. finally a game that allows us to explore a bit of the star wars universe but as a character from the devs mind and not ours. was hyped about hearing about an open world star wars game too only for it to fall short of my expectations

this game looks great but why can’t we get a choose your own adventure type beat. let me create a character. let me follow my own path that could lead to being a jedi, sith, or an outlaw. this game may have an open world, but who you are and how you play seem fairly limited.

Game design evolved like the gpu industry did. It costs A LOT to produce something like this, and with all the hate and uncertainty in the player base, nobody wants to take huge risks and develop for 5 years just to have a meh welcome and financial loss. It should be better explained to the people and it isn't done properly by any of the great studios.

You may have already played it, but SWTOR is like that. You can be a Jedi, Sith, Bounty Hunter, Smuggler, Republic soldier, Imperial Agent... it's a Bioware game so you make choices during the story, and you create your own character.

The game is not an RPG but and action adventure game. it is like GTA in Star Wars universe. You don't get to make your own character in GTA, because the character is designed in a certain way to fit the storyline. This is the same concept so think of it this way. We can just hope that they chose the character well and that the storyline matches the character.

One of the many red flags. The gameplay frame rate looks choppy. Speeder gameplay looks unpolished and cumbersome. Most of the movement mechanics and animations look clunky. There also seems to be a disparity in pace between certain movements and animations. The whole game just looks weird to me.
