I've just started watching this show and it's because all the video content is under one account now. I used to strictly watch NVC but have fallen in love with this cast and 20 questions!!! I'm so glad this has become part of my weekly schedule.

RE8 is great, going for my 3rd playthrough atm. The story bits get explained toward the end of the game. It gets crazy.

I must be in a small group of people, I always turn off all rest mode functions deep in the system settings. I'm not a fan of it sitting in rest mode, I'd rather it just be powered off completely and if I really need to keep a session going I'll just leave it on pause. The downside is electricity, heat and leaving it running but the upside is I never have any of the crashes or bugs most people do. Still haven't had a single PS5 crash or malfunction yet.

Strongly disagree that Predator 2 sucks. It's a fun movie and introduced the idea of there being a race of predators along with the tie-in to Aliens. The ship at the end has a Xenomorph head displayed. Also, the gun given to Glover's character is a pirate's from the 1700s, implying the Predator race has been visiting earth for a long time. Lastly, his signature staff and disc were first introduced in this film. The lore of Predator evolved out of those references. Besides look at the cast: Glover, Paxton, and Busey! .

Predator 2 does not suck. You just don't understand it's brilliance

I'm on my 3rd run of returnal, trying to get the platinum at the moment. The boss Justin was talking about is the 4th boss, the most amazing one IMO. The music integration there is just crazy. Pro tip: Pause the game and leave it there instead of putting the PS5 in rest mode, that way it won't restart or reset since you're still playing the game, technically

I missed clearing one room in the castle (part of the Distillery I think) and couldn't get back because of that wooden mini bridge that breaks when you cross it outside Dimitrescu's chambers. So annoying. Edit: Daemon, I have been dealing with the rest mode issue, along with several others, since I got my PS5. It's so annoying. I now just leave my console turned on all the time and just restart it after a save point every now and then. Again, SO ANNOYING.

Absolutely love this show! The Omega Cops are amazing. So insightful, funny, chill. Love listening to them every week. I mostly agree with Justin's take on reviewing, but to be clear, I don't think journalists should be telling gamers strictly if a game is worth buying. I understand reviews convey whether a game is good and worth the time, but reviewers never should specifically endorse a game. I know he's speaking extemporaneously, but still, a video game journalist's job is to present all the information (including his or her opinion, sure) and let readers decide for themselves if a game is worth buying. Daemon has compared the concept of Rogue-lite games to sports before, and that's still so incredibly silly. First of all, each sports team you face is completely different, with different styles, strengths and weaknesses, etc. If anything, sports should be compared to RPG games. Secondly, facing athletes means not knowing what they're going to do next, but Rogue-lite games DEPEND on memorizing how enemies/environments behave, and in the end, even if it takes you more runs than most people, you eventually will get through it. But you're NEVER guaranteed a win against a sports opponent no matter how you "stack" against the competition. I could keep going, but the point is that's a silly comparison :) Even comparing it to Chess is silly because a chess board doesn't change the starting positions of its pieces or the dimensions of a game board.

I think the term gaming DNA is very interesting. Look at how RPG‘s have changed games we never associate it with role-playing. Yakuza, NBA 2K, Madden assassin‘s creed none of those would be considered role-play games yet the concepts from an RPG make their way into so many games we love now and most of us love the idea of building creating growing a character. Who would’ve ever thought you’d see RPG mechanics in a racing game or a shooting game.

I am liking Village but I'm not totally in love with it. I know I'm probably the minority but I'm a sucker for the older style. Not necessarily tank controls but 3rd person and zombies. I totally understand that for the series to evolve they had to move away from the whole zombie umbrella t virus thing, im just nostalgic over the old days. Though we did get the re2/3 remake and those are great so overall I'm super happy.

Pro tip, I am on my second playthrough as there are a lot of guns and unlimited ammo options once you beat the game, but it will take several playthroughs to do this and most guns don't offer unlimited ammo unless you FULLY upgraded them. Wish I had known my first round as I would have focused on getting the magnum upgraded on my first run.

Nintendo has 5 first party games on that list (10, 8, 7, 6, and 4 all Nintendo games) Tetris, the #1 spot, was package with the OG Gameboy and at the time Nintendo solely owned the Publication rights to Tetris till 1997 (I think it was). One has to ask; What is it about Nintendo that helps stay at the top? I mean I'm a Nintendo "fanboy" but even I see all they really do is reinvent the same wheel. (Look at Super Mario Bros 35 the BR like game, they got me and other people emailing them about turning the servers back on or make AI like Tetris 99.... a freaking 35 year old game....)

I didn't think of Super Mario Bros 2 (the Lost Levels one) as a true "sequel" - it was the same game with additional levels, it was more like a DLC pack before DLC's existed. Moreover, it was a VERY difficult game compared to the first one - it's almost like they released a fun game to play (Super Mario Bros) but then released an uber-difficult set of levels for all the fanboys who mastered playing Super Mario Bros to kind of give them a challenge. It wasn't a "bad" game, it was just more of the same and more difficult. Same thing with Lode Runner, by the way.

I'm a huge fan of you guys, I've listened/watched Gamescoop every single week for the last 5 years and I even listen to Daemon's music regularly on spotify, but the way IGN insists on taking political stances on every little thing these days is making it almost impossible to enjoy anything they're connected to.
