I'll help you out with some analysis on that second Arizona teacher. She clearly is ignorant of her role as a teacher. The teacher is to teach "in loco parentis", meaning "in place of the parent". So, yes, you are actually supposed to teach the basics, and anything outside of that is as the parents would.

your title is confusing, i thought "woke" was a good thing to be (as opposed to blind/ignorant), to more deeply understand about things worth understanding, an evolved way to be, so not sure what the "joy" or payoff implied by the title would be. also, the guy in the audience had asked a question in earnest, and the man on the podium gave his opinion which may or may not be 100% insightful, how is this "destroying" anyone?
