As someone who loves smaller nations (in size or hockey program) play hockey it was astonishing to see latvia beat a powerhouse like czechia keep it up bois love from canada

Always loved seeing Latvia do well in hockey, ever since I took a liking to Arturs Irbe when I was a kid and I was like "where the heck is Latvia??" Love from Canada!

Irbe was among those Bettman screwed out of the 98 Olympics to rig the prelims vs teams w/ majority non NHLers. It almost worked until Czechia's Euros kicked his ass.

Didnt knew that this was also first time for Latvia to win czechia, well this year truly was amazing for Latvia 💪🙌👏 I started following Latvia this year when they dropped Sweden from the semifinals our one of the biggest rivalrys so Gongrats Latvia from Finland 💪🇫🇮 It was amazing to see you win (almost gold) and bronze at my hometown Tampere 💪🙌👏🔥

I mean, hockey has been the most popular sport in Latvia for some time now, so I'm not sure how much growth there's been, especially considering how their development programs still have their issues when compared to way back when. Either way, still a great story.

I would say that hockey has had a regress in Latvia, but it's not only hockey, the whole sports and education system is fucked in Latvia for some time now, no wonder all kids are being sent abroad to play and study, because the level is just so low and the good players can't really progress.

I remember the times when there were only two indoor ice hockey arenas in Latvia - today there are twenty ice hockey arenas in Latvia and by investing in regions and children, we manage to remain among the elite of the world ice hockey since 1997.

Вот где Нет России Везде Бардак.. Чехия продержалась на наследие СССР. Там в Спорт деньги вкладывались. У Финнов упадёт хоккей они ушли из КХЛ.. конкуренции Нет.Шведы тоже покинули КХЛ. Всё Закономерно все подровнялись.. Замечательно. Сибирь Байкал

Если бы сборные со своими топовыми составами приехали на ЧМ, латыши и близко к плей-офф не были бы. Да и ещё без сборной России. Всем настолько похер на этот турнир, что даже североамериканцы приезжают с игроками из АХЛ

It's not like it just fell apart or something, it's already been 3 decades at this point. The video is not historical, the championship is not historical, everything that's going on here is not history related - it's just hockey! And yet people still think about bringing up the topic of how supposedly "better it was back then" and all that bollocks. Now *that* is what I'm pissed about.
