To be honest I respect her opinion but fees for the iim is too high students mostly are in a dilemma that they could take loan but if you will see the option and the amount mostly the cost to pursue iim exceeds the loan amount as the three years course cost 15L and the last 2 mba years cost around 23-24 L which could/will potentially increase I really think that ipm programs are just a cash cow for iim nothing more

I understand where you are coming from, but you are ignoring the fact that it is easy to get a scholarship if you’re studying in an IIM (Depends on what state you belong to). The Central Bank of India provides 40 Lakh no-collateral education loan to IIM students which is more or less enough to get you through the five years of IPM if you can arrange 4-5 lakhs during those five years. To say that IPM programs are just cash cows would be to ignore all of the advantages of the program such as the IIM experience straight from undergrads, having an IIM as a backup, an option to not appear for CAT, holistic development through the diverse curriculum, and many many more. I agree that it is a very expensive program for an undergraduate degree, but I feel there can be a better debate for its worth than this.

@@kshav_kytThe solution to everything you can't afford is not a loan. A loan is like a sword hanging over your end. I would rather she had completed her graduation from SRCC and done an MBA from either A, B, or C (now she will have an MBA from Tier 3 IIM).

If u have some extracurricular it's good but it's not like that if u have not been in extra curricular u won't get admission

Extracurriculars are in general important for your holistic development. As far as admission in IIM Ranchi is concerned , this year less weightage was given to extracurriculars and the interviews were more inclined towards academics. Also there are students currently studying in IIM Ranchi who had almost no extracurriculars but were great in academics!

Nope! You can compensate it with your IPMAT score.

No but you need to be ready to face questions regarding the reasons behind your 2 year drop. Also be well prepared to not give the panelists a chance to point any finger towards you!
