I met Ike when I worked at the theater in San Marcos on Center drive, he was cool to me. I was very young, early 90's and didn't know who he was. He was polite and asked if he could just come in to buy some Popcorn. I said no problem, and he said thanks, bought the popcorn, went to his car and brought be back an autographed picture.

It's nice to see a softer side to Ike.. U live and u learn and at least before he went to glory he knew how to humble... I hope he asked God to forgive him.bc in the end that's all that matters getting his soul right, Tina said she holds no anger in her heart and she is happy and this footage is refreshing to see Ike happy..

People get on my nerves, just enjoy the video ... Play Ike you sounded good babe's! Good music and a good guy, he had a drug issue in the past and it took over but goodness, him and Tina was married for a long time and I know from being married that it's always two sides to a story, we got Tina's and immediately judged him but we weren't there and we don't know all of everything that happened so who are we to judge based off a movie, come on I mean big ups to Angela Bassett and Laurence fishburne but y'all come on, a movie portrayed by one side isn't quite the full story and I love Tina dearly but the light he was put in was awful, at least a disclaimer could've went out that this was during a rough time for Ike and Tina. I don't know but I enjoyed the video... RIP Ike Turner

An absolutely egregious bastard he certainly was back then, but nobody could ever deny that he was a musical genius, a true band-leading force to be reckoned with and a masterful and underrated guitarist. And he did work hard at fighting his addictions that drove him to do such horrible things in subsequent years. I'll always remember Ike Turner and be inspired by him, for the right reasons :)

I'm not the religious type BUT there's a saying, like "the way you judge, you'll be judged",that all f...moralists and so-called religious people should meditate, in short you love the man or you don't,who gives a f...,it's your own affair, but please spare us epithets like "bastard" or "genius", that means nothing, just a mirror of your own mind, with its fears and expectations, and aimed at convincing others that you're on the "good" side without doing anything but babble...sorry, I go too far...but have you ever been in the middle of a couple's argument when people (your friends) begin to yell and throw things and so, that's just hell on earth, man, and you just wish you'd be something else, somewhere else, good luck.

Are you kidding? The movie didn't show shit compared to what she went through. It makes me mad when people think they know it all. Anna Mae started getting beat with a shoe stretcher! He would beat her with coat hangers until her ass swelled up two inches higher! Then he'd screw her and rape her after he beat her! Ike was sick and was exposed to a bad up bringing. Probably a lot of things happened to hi but it's no excuse for what he dis to her. Thank God she got away from him. I think he may have been a bipolar narcissist sociopath. L

Hello Channel That gig, to me was the best one we ever did, if not for the historical significance of the theater and the fact that I am lucky enough to have been able to experience playing such a magnificent and magical place. We played a lot in France and I was able to see a lot of the country. The non-Parisians were kind to me and overlooked the travesty that was my pronunciation of the French language! I really do love France and hopefully will be there to play music again soon. :) Check out my latest work at theoddgeteven.bandcamp.com/album/oddio And codextempore.com

+ Bill Ray You just summarized in one sentence what we all know over here: there are the French on one side and the Parisians on the other! Our best humorists never miss an opportunity to slay them. But the Parisians can be able to laugh at their own caricatures and become human beings again when spending some vacation in the country! In this extent, I think Parisians and New-Yorkers have pretty much in common! Although I have some basic notions of bass, I don't consider myself a musician, but I cannot live without listening to music. As concerns your work with The Odds get Even, I particularly appreciated Return to Baby, Bi-Polar Vortex and Red Dragon. This album Oddio brought me back when I used to listen to groups such as Steps Ahead, Spyro Gyra, The Rippingtons and in lesser proportions Yellow Jackets and Incognito...Al Di Meola, maybe. Your collaboration with Tobias Weber is the work of virtuosos. Tracks such as Cold Fusion, Prog-Rock Jam in Seven, Accidental Funk, Rooted in Soil are prowesses of mellifluous melodies and rhythm addressing to jazz fusion listeners. ( what kind of guitars are these? 7 and 8 strings, or do I have to have my eyes checked? ). To be honest, it's too high for my listening capacity; if I go back to this kind of music, I would listen to Larry Carlton or Lee Ritenour for instance or the Canadian band called Uzeb. Now, I just stick to basics: blues, rhythm'n blues and soul. When I want to have some fun, I turn to some African bands such as P-Square, or Caribbean. But I'm never happier than when I listen to this kind of gig you did in Vienne, The epitome of what I really like is this song I Need a Nuddin' you did at the Norh Sea Festival, for instance. 12 bars blues, enormous 5 strings bass, great horn section blowing fat notes, square and precise drums. What else?!

Haha! What a fun reply. I do enjoy this banter, as I have left Facebook (too toxic) and it gives me a chance to branch out and pay attention to my KZfaq channel. :D Well I think you'll enjoy this. It's the "real Swampers" from Muscle Shoals. I grew up around this record label (Malaco) and have been rediscovering my own roots. Many of the artists on that label would filter through my father's photography studio and I was always in awe of them. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b7udfLF_srade30.html I will be drumming with this band July 5 and will stream it too. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e86DftGHx5_Mmps.html
