You can also use a plie of books or magazines to raise the door up while fitting the hinges. Good video!

If you're as unprepared as I am and all you have is a screwdriver I'd suggest tightening and loosening the hinge's screws prior to screwing them to the wardrobe frame - sometimes they're hard to move for the first few twists, and trust me, you don't want to find out about that while holding the door with one hand and screwing them in with the other, while your foot gets numb from all the weight ;)

Thanks so much for the video! I'm installing the doors tomorrow and I've had issues trying to fix doors and a drawer on an assembled Besta unit I bought in their As Is section. I'm going to have to measure the frame like you did at the beginning. I never thought to do that! I've always been mystified by their hinge adjustment instructions, but I'll be sure to apply your tips when I attempt to fix it. Thanks again! I know where to go anytime I need to assemble any other IKEA stuff!

my dad trying to put these doors up and was going on a angry rant on how complicated things like this has become so i told him multiple times to look it up on youtube but refused so i had to do it and well thanks to this video he didn`t burst a blood vessel🤣

I see how you are adjusting the doors up and down Can you do this while all three hinges are in place, or do you have to unscrew two of the hinges?

Hello, we are refurbing an existing fitted wardrobe and are considering the mirror doors, either Aheim or Vikedal but we will need to use strong flush hinges. My question is, is the back of the doors particle board so we can use screws ?

Thank you and as you mentioned mirrored doors are heavy , is there any way apart from fixing it in the wall as my wardrobe is falling when I am opening both the mirror doors and also will it be happening if I will exchange one mirrored door ? Or do you suggest I should get both the doors exchanged and use the standard doors to avoid falling

Only the way is to fix wardrobes to the wall. If you get regular doors not sure if it still goes down when open all 4 doors. Once you load the wardrobe with clothes should be better but I would still fix them to the wall especially if there are small kids at home, if not before you load the wardrobe put some spacer under the front part of the wardrobe (under the side panels not the small panel on the middle). All that said better to be safe than sorry.

Hello and thank you very much for your videos. Im rigth in the middle of building a Pax wardrobe. Can I put it rigth next to a wall ? Or will the hinged doors not be able to open enough to get the baskets and drawers out ?

Leave at last 1cm from the wall it is good for ventilation to don't get mould on the wall behind the wardrobe and if you have bigger door handle leave more door need to be open 90degre. If you are not sure, build one frame one drawer and one door with a door handle and check if you can open comfortably without problems.

I want to order a lax wardrobe with two mirror and two wood doors, can I pick here I want to place the mirrored ones or is there a this side up and this side down system? P.s. They are all the same size at 50cm

My pax "soft closing hinges" mounted at top and bottom of wardrobe don't work and consequently the doors slam closed. Is it possible to adjust soft closing mechanism. Please can you help.

There is is little bit different version of Komplement hinges. With click fixing between box and door and all hinges are with soft close.

In the manual they point out that you should make sure the hardboard backing is square to the frame while nailing it........

I had the mirror doors, so heavy! I had to prop them up on books to fit them.

True the mirrored doors are the heaviest from all Ikea hinged doors not so easy to play around withe them.

Unfortunately my ikea vikdal mirror pax door hinges have pulled out from the door itself. I notice now this brand has been discontinued. There is only 3 hinge pockets on this door not 4 like I see on other doors. Do you have any suggestions for this?

Question, the wardrobe is being installed in an opening and I want to install the wardrobe with doors into the opening so i can get a flush installation, How much clearance is needed for the vertical and horizontal measurement so the doors open without hitting the top or sides of the opening ?

If your ceiling is straight you can do hinged doors with 0.5cm clearance. Vertical depend if your wall is straight if enough space to build 1cm on each side would be safe

Hi! I have an issue with putting the doors on the Pax wardrobe. Basically on one of the sides screwing the doors in works perfectly, the other side seems that you need to fix the screws in lower holes than the opposite door. It also makes it harder to find the holes on the second door. Can you help with your advice? Thanks in advance

Hi, I cannot seem to get my right hand side door to go on. The two left ones went on fine, including the mirror one. But the right hand one seems to be going into lower holes for the middle hinge. Any suggestions? I am out of ideas trying to get it on. Thanks

I had the same issue as well. Would also like to hear his solution. I just moved the hinge a bit up before installing the door and now it matches the holes correctly.

The fish eye lens you use makes all the bits look round on the edges. Cant you use a regular lens.

I would never use an electric drill for screwing on wardrobe hinges or kitchen unit hinges as the drill can over tighten them, i always use a screwdriver, as for placing hinges on the door i always screw one part of hinge to door and the other part to the carcass as it saves trying to hold it with your foot, if you use your foot there's a risk of the doors falling when only one hinge is in and you lose your balance and force the hinge out of the door.

I've just built a Pax wardrobe and three Malm cupboards using my Ryobi drill/driver with the screwdriver torque setting on 8. No over tightened screws and everything worked perfectly...... well almost. My second IKEA 236 wardrobe was perfectly sealed but on opening it, I discovered only two sides and one top with an extra cardboard spacer where the bottom should have been. Seven to ten days to wait for a replacement base for a brand new purchase after spending almost £2,500..........
